Learn more about our mission by visiting www.dreams33.org.Role DescriptionThe Education Advocate will play a crucial role in providing personalized guidance and support to youth with foster care backgrounds. This full-time, on-site position is located in Redwood City, CA. Responsibilities include assessing individual educational needs, coordinating with schools and families, developing personalized educational plans, and advocating for necessary resources or accommodations. The role also involves mentoring students to build confidence and assisting with academic and personal development.QualificationsStrong Communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with youth and various stakeholders.Background in Education, including familiarity with best practices in educational advocacy and learning support.Experience in Case Management, including providing individualized support and connecting youth with relevant resources.Understanding of Special Education and the ability to navigate special education programs, services, and advocacy needs.Proficiency in delivering Training to students and occasionally caregivers or community partners.Organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance multiple priorities effectively.Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field preferred.Experience working with youth in foster care or similar populations is a plus.We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support our employees’ health, financial well-being, and work-life balance.
