Apply & track with Apply EdgeEducational Psychometrician (Project-Based Consultant)This is a project-based consulting engagement focused on developing a financial literacy workshop program for Grade 7-9 students.We're looking for a psychometrician to design and validate our pre/post assessment instrument, ensuring our impact data is accurate, defensible, and built to scale into a longer-term tracking study in future phases.Roles & responsibilities• Design and validate assessment items that measure genuine shifts in student judgement and decision-making, not just recall• Build equivalent question versions for pre/post testing (same underlying concept, different surface details) to confirm real learning versus memorization• Test and confirm item difficulty, reliability, and clarity for a Grade 7-9 age range• Advise on appropriate sample sizes and what's statistically defensible to report from a pilot-scale rollout• Build a scoring rubric for consistent use across multiple schools and facilitators• Provide technical documentation supporting the validity of our results• Advise on how this phase's instrument design connects to a future longitudinal (behavior-tracking) phaseKnowledge, skills & experience• Graduate degree (Master's or PhD) in psychometrics/educational measurement/quantitative psychology/applied statistics. Minimum 5 years experience in designing/validating assessments for school-aged populations (K-12)• Solid grounding in Classical Test Theory (CTT), with working knowledge of Item Response Theory (IRT) and Rasch modeling• Understanding of practical school-based data collection constraints: short session windows, consent processes, age-appropriate language, single-class-period delivery• Hands on experience scoping recommendations to project size, rather than defaulting to the most advanced methodology availableCertifications from ETS, Pearson, ACT or academic assessment are preferredProject-based consulting engagement. Initial scope covers instrument design and validation for a single-session pilot, with the option to extend into future phases of the program.
