CSPD has over 46,000 students and 6,500 staff members and operates across 80 schools.About the RoleReporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Executive General Manager - Legal, Governance & Risk leads and provides strategic direction across 5 distinct functions; Legal and Board Secretariat, Risk, Internal Audit, Safeguarding and a newly created Enterprise Strategy team.We are seeking a high performing executive leader to join their Executive Leadership Team as Executive General Manager - Legal, Governance & Risk. This is a rare opportunity to influence the strategic direction, governance and organisational performance while making a meaningful contribution to education and the wellbeing of children and young people.As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will partner with the board and executive and lead a high performing team through the next horizon of strategic plan development and corporate governance. Key ResponsibilitiesYou will:Provide strategic leadership of the function, setting direction operational priorities and performance measures.Lead the delivery of legal advice, legislative guidance and corporate governance support across the organisation.Drive the development and implementation of governance, risk, compliance and audit frameworks that support CPSD’s strategic objectives and inform decision-making.Oversee safeguarding governance and continuous improvement initiatives that support the safety and wellbeing of children.Lead Board governance, statutory reporting, company secretariat activities and corporate governance obligations.Represent CSPD in legal, regulatory and governance matters, including engagement with government and regulatory bodies.Support organisational responses to legislative and regulatory change.Foster a high-performing, collaborative and service-oriented culture across the function.
