locationsIdaho - NampaIdaho - Post FallsSchweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Professional to support and continuously improve environmental, health, and safety programs at our growing operations in Nampa, Idaho. In this role, you will help ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations, support audits and inspections, manage environmental programs, and partner with employees and leaders to promote a safe, healthy, and sustainable workplace. As SEL continues to invest in and expand its presence in the Treasure Valley, this position will play a key role in supporting both current operations and future facility growth.The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Professional will collaborate closely with manufacturing, engineering, construction, and cross-functional teams to identify risks, investigate incidents, drive corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This role offers a unique opportunity to help establish and enhance EHS processes, systems, and culture within a growing manufacturing environment while contributing to the successful development and operation of new facilities. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional who is passionate about workplace safety, environmental stewardship, regulatory compliance, and building a strong foundation for sustained growth.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist in the development, implementation, and continuous refinement of SEL’s environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs that encourage a safe and healthy work environment and comply with federal, state, and local regulations; research regulations as needed.Own programs that ensure safety and environmental compliance; maintain programs to fulfill on-going customer requirements or needs.Counsel all levels of management and employee owners on safety management programs and practices and balance the needs of various stakeholders to understand problems and needs; participate in cross functional teams to create solutions within areas of expertise.Respond to job related customer inquiries, questionnaires, surveys, requirements, issues, and any environmental incidents.Participate in internal audits and compliance inspections and identifies actions necessary to meet regulatory and ISO 14001 and 45001 standard requirements.Perform EH&S review/approval as part of the Management of Change (MOC) process.Participate in equipment safety design by working closely with more senior EH&S personnel and other engineering groups within the company.Partner with site safety committee on active hazard control and accident prevention programs; facilitate incident investigation process, assist or lead in root cause investigations, and recommend corrective actions.Model, teach and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.Understand. Simplify.Other duties as assigned.Required QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in a EH&S related field or Engineering or equivalent experience3+ years of EH&S related experienceProfessional certification, such as Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), etc.Experience with multiple EH&S programsProficient with Microsoft Office 365 applicationsStrong organizational skills and high attention to detailExcellent writing, grammar, and communication skillsAbility to work both independently and cooperatively within a team environmentAbility to multitask and adapt to changing prioritiesNegative drug test result(s)Background check results satisfactory to SEL Preferred QualificationsEH&S experience in electronics manufacturing environmentISO 45001 and/or 14001 internal auditor experiencePhysical RequirementsAble to walk and stand for extended periods, climb stairs unassisted and lift and carry up to 20 lbsLocationNampa, IDCompetitive pay.
