ENATA offers a collaborative environment where cross-division exchanges drive cutting-edge end products in each sector.Role DescriptionThe Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for the design, development, integration, testing, and technical documentation of electrical systems and electrical installations for aerospace, marine, and advanced engineering projects.The role covers the complete electrical design lifecycle, including system architecture, power distribution, wiring and harness design, component selection, electrical schematics, control panels, protection systems, grounding, Installation support, testing, troubleshooting, and design validation.Key ResponsibilitiesA. Electrical System Design & Engineering- Design complete electrical systems, subsystems, and electrical installations based on project and customer requirements.- Develop electrical system architectures, power distribution concepts, and electrical interface definitions.- Perform electrical load analysis and determine system power requirements.- Design AC and DC power distribution systems as applicable.- Support electrical system optimization for weight, space, efficiency, maintainability, and reliability.B. Wiring Harness & Cable Design- Design electrical wiring harnesses and cable assemblies for aerospace, marine, and industrial applications.- Prepare detailed harness drawings, wire lists, cable schedules, connection tables, and termination drawings.- Define: Wire and cable types, Wire gauges, Connectors and backshells, Terminals and contacts, Splices, Circuit protection, Shielding, Sleeving and insulation, Cable routing and segregation.- Ensure correct separation between power, signal, communication, and sensitive circuits.- Define cable routing considering mechanical constraints, accessibility, heat sources, vibration, electromagnetic interference, and maintenance requirements.- Coordinate harness routing with mechanical and structural design teams.C. Component Selection- Select suitable electrical and electromechanical components, including: - Circuit breakers and fuses, Relays and contactors, Power supplies and converters, Batteries and charging systems, Motors and actuators, Sensors and switches, Connectors and terminals, Electrical distribution units, Control panels, Transformers, Inverters, Grounding and bonding components- Support evaluation and qualification of alternative components when required.- Coordinate with procurement and supply-chain teams regarding technical specifications and approved components.3. Engineering Calculations & Analysis- Perform electrical load and power-budget calculations.- Calculate voltage drops and cable-sizing requirements.- Determine short-circuit and fault-current requirements where applicable.- Calculate protection-device ratings and coordination.- Evaluate power consumption, efficiency, and thermal loading.- Conduct grounding and bonding assessments.- Support battery capacity and backup-power calculations.- Perform electrical derating calculations where required.- Participate in reliability and failure-mode assessments such as FMEA/FMECA.- Support electrical safety and risk assessments.4. Control & Automation SystemsWhere applicable, the Electrical Design Engineer shall:- Design electrical control systems and control panels.- Develop electrical interfaces for PLCs, controllers, sensors, actuators, and communication systems.5. Aerospace / UAV ResponsibilitiesFor aerospace and UAV projects, responsibilities may include:- Design and integration of aircraft/UAV electrical power systems.- Electrical integration of: Flight-control systems, Autopilot systems, Navigation equipment, Communication systems, Payload systems, Sensors, Actuators and servos, Fuel-system electrical components, Landing-gear systems, Ground-control interfaces- Develop aircraft wiring and interconnection diagrams.- Support Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) design principles.- Support weight optimization of electrical systems and harnesses.6. Marine Electrical SystemsFor marine projects, responsibilities may include:- Design DC and AC electrical distribution systems.- Develop battery-bank and charging-system configurations.- Design electrical systems for pumps, motors, lighting, navigation, communication, and auxiliary equipment.- Support generator, shore-power, inverter, and distribution-board integration.- Develop electrical layouts for machinery spaces, cabins, decks, and technical compartments.- Ensure appropriate grounding, bonding, corrosion protection, and electrical safety practices.- Coordinate electrical installation with marine mechanical, structural, and interior teams.7. Design DocumentationPrepare and maintain accurate engineering documentation, including:- Electrical schematics- Wiring diagrams- Single-line diagrams- System block diagrams- Harness drawings- Cable schedules- Wire lists- Connector pin-out drawings- Electrical installation drawings- Electrical load analysis- Interface Control Documents (ICDs)- Bills of Materials (BOMs)- Component specifications- Design calculations- Test procedures- Engineering reports- Technical specifications- Design verification records- As-built documentationEnsure all drawings and documentation are properly controlled according to the company's document-control and configuration-management procedures.
