Electrical Engineer

Role DescriptionAn Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, commissioning, maintaining, and improving electrical systems, equipment, and installations. The role works with project teams, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure electrical works meet technical specifications, safety standards, quality requirements, budgets, and project schedules.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and review electrical systems, layouts, drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.Prepare electrical calculations, engineering documentation, and technical reports.Coordinate electrical works with civil, mechanical, MEP, and other engineering disciplines.Inspect electrical installations and verify compliance with approved designs and specifications.Conduct testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and fault diagnosis of electrical systems.Work with power distribution, lighting, cabling, switchgear, transformers, generators, and control systems.Identify electrical defects, technical risks, system issues, and opportunities for improvement.Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, consultants, and clients on technical requirements.Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, regulations, safety standards, and project requirements.Monitor electrical project progress, materials, resources, schedules, and quality standards.Review technical submissions, shop drawings, material approvals, and installation methods.Prepare inspection reports, test records, commissioning documents, and project documentation.Support electrical maintenance, upgrades, modifications, and system improvement projects.Assist with resolving technical issues during construction, testing, and operation.Ensure all electrical activities are completed safely, efficiently, and according to approved requirements.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.Relevant experience in electrical engineering, construction, MEP, manufacturing, facilities, or related projects.Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, wiring, lighting, and control systems.Experience in electrical installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP, Revit MEP, or similar engineering software.Strong understanding of electrical drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation.Knowledge of IEC, BS, UAE regulations, and electrical safety standards is advantageous.Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.Good communication, coordination, and teamwork abilities.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Professional, reliable, organized, proactive, and safety-conscious.
