Electrical Engineer

Role DescriptionAn Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, testing, commissioning, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment. The role ensures electrical installations are safe, reliable, efficient, and compliant with project and regulatory requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign electrical systems, layouts, drawings, and specifications.Perform electrical calculations, load assessments, and equipment selection.Coordinate electrical works with civil, mechanical, and MEP teams.Conduct site inspections, testing, commissioning, and technical assessments.Troubleshoot electrical systems, equipment, and installation issues.Work with power distribution, lighting, cabling, switchgear, transformers, and control systems.Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, consultants, clients, and project teams.Review technical submissions, shop drawings, materials, and specifications.Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and project requirements.Monitor installation quality, progress, materials, and project schedules.Prepare testing, commissioning, technical reports, and engineering documentation.Support maintenance, upgrades, modifications, and system improvements.Identify technical risks and develop effective engineering solutions.Recommend energy-efficient and cost-effective electrical solutions.Maintain accurate engineering records and project documentation.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.Relevant experience in electrical engineering, MEP, construction, manufacturing, or facilities.Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, wiring, lighting, and controls.Experience in electrical installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP, Revit MEP, or similar engineering software.Knowledge of IEC, BS, UAE, and relevant electrical standards.Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Excellent attention to detail and safety awareness.Good communication and coordination skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering documentation tools.Knowledge of UAE/GCC engineering practices is advantageous.Professional, reliable, organized, and proactive.
