Responsibilities
Develop LV, MV, and HV single-line diagrams for power generation systemsDesign generator paralleling schemes and protection settingsPrepare electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and construction drawingsPerform load calculations, equipment sizing, and arc flash studiesSpecify electrical equipment including transformers, switchgear, MCCs, and protection systemsReview vendor documentation and utility interconnection requirementsSupport commissioning activities and electrical equipment start-upCollaborate with customers, contractors, utilities, and internal engineering teams throughout project execution
Requirements
Hold current P.Eng. registration in a Canadian provincePossess at least five years of power system design experienceDemonstrate strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical CodeUnderstand power generation systems and synchronizing controlsApply experience with LV, MV, and HV power distribution systemsDesign power distribution, protection, control, and motor control systemsUtilize AutoCAD Electrical and power system analysis software such as ETAPBring exposure to utility environments, power generation, or related infrastructure projects
