As an Electrical Engineer, you’ll gather and analyze technical data to develop the basic electrical engineering designs that power our clients’ projects — from power distribution and one-line drawings to load studies and equipment selection.You’ll prepare electrical distribution designs, one-line drawings, load studies, and power equipment lists across industrial and power delivery projects, then hand your completed work to senior engineering staff for review and approval before it reaches the client. It’s a hands-on role that pairs analytical design work with time in the field — visiting client facilities, walking sites, and getting close to the equipment you’re designing around.Why NexusYou’ll own a piece of what you build. We invest in our engineers and give them real, technically meaningful work.What you can expect:Employee ownership (ESOP) — build equity in the firm as it growsReal design ownership — power and electrical distribution, one-line drawings, load studies, and power equipment selection across industrial and power delivery projectsMentorship from senior engineers who review your work and help you grow toward professional licensureFull-service EPCm exposure, from concept through startup, across a diverse client baseCareer paths that grow with you — toward senior engineer, technical leadership, or discipline managementFlexible work arrangements where business needs allowWhat You’ll DoGather and analyze technical data to prepare basic electrical engineering designs for client projectsDevelop power and electrical distribution designs, including electrical one-line drawingsPerform electrical load studies and the supporting engineering calculationsPrepare power equipment lists and support selection of transformers, switchgear, motors, UPS, and related equipmentDevelop area classification documentation and other electrical drawings, including lighting and heat-tracing (HT) designsApply industry, client, utility, and company standards to your engineering work productsSubmit completed technical work to senior engineering staff for review and approval before it is presented to the clientVisit client facilities to collect field data and support design development — including walking sites, standing, climbing ladders, and lifting as the work requiresRequired QualificationsWhat We’re Looking ForBachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering1+ year of experience in power distribution, utility coordination, or control system calculations and designUnderstanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and design principles, including power and electrical distributionAbility to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, standards, and equipment documentationStrong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to work effectively in a team-oriented environmentPreferred QualificationsFamiliarity with AutoCAD 2-D CAD, with 3-D CAD a plusEngineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, or active progress toward professional licensureWork Environment & Physical DemandsWork is performed in a hybrid environment that includes office, remote, and active client-facility and project-site settings. An individual’s base salary will be determined within this range based on relevant factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, work location, internal equity, and market conditions.
