Electronics EngineerAbout the companyOur client is an innovative Dutch technology company developing advanced electrification solutions for demanding applications. The organisation operates at the intersection of electrical engineering, embedded technology and energy systems, with a strong focus on developing compact, reliable and safety-critical hardware. The company has a highly practical engineering culture, where ideas move quickly from concept to prototype and ultimately towards production. Engineers have a high degree of ownership and work closely across disciplines to solve complex technical challenges. This is an environment for people who enjoy building things, testing them in practice and seeing their work become a real product.About the roleWe are looking for a Electronics Engineer who enjoys being close to the hardware and taking ownership from initial design through to a working, validated product. In this role, you will design and develop electronics for high-energy electrified systems, taking designs from schematic and PCB layout through prototype build, testing and debugging. You will work hands-on in the lab, investigating issues, improving designs and making sure the hardware performs reliably under demanding conditions. The electronics you work on need to operate in challenging environments involving high voltage, temperature variations and vibration. This means your work combines creative engineering with disciplined testing, validation and safety. If you enjoy designing a PCB in the morning, soldering and debugging it in the afternoon, and figuring out why a signal is behaving differently than expected, this could be a great fit. What you’ll doDesign BMS circuits, PCBs and electrical schematics using Altium Designer.Develop layouts that are robust, manufacturable and suitable for the intended application.Manage BOMs and contribute to component selection and library management.Build and modify prototypes, including soldering, rework and board bring-up.Debug hardware using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power analysers, JTAG and other diagnostic tools.Work on cell balancing, power distribution and energy-efficiency optimisation.Test and validate electronics under demanding real-world conditions, including thermal, vibration and high-voltage environments.Support compliance activities and technical documentation relating to CE, IEC and UN38.3 requirements.Work closely with mechanical, manufacturing and embedded/software engineers to integrate electronics into complete systems.Document specifications, test results, design decisions and safety procedures.Help develop and improve robust electronics development and testing processes as products move from prototype to production.Take ownership of technical challenges and drive solutions from initial investigation through implementation and validation. What you bringA Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related field. At least 5 years of professional experience in PCB design and electronics/hardware development.Strong hands-on experience with Altium Designer, including schematic capture, PCB layout and BOM management.A genuinely hands-on engineering mindset: you are comfortable soldering, probing, troubleshooting and modifying hardware yourself.Experience with power electronics, battery management systems (BMS) and/or high-voltage systems.A good understanding of electronics design principles and hardware validation.Familiarity with relevant compliance standards and processes, such as CE, IEC and UN38.3.The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with engineers from other disciplines.Nice to haveExperience with embedded systems and board bring-up.Experience with EMC/EMI testing and troubleshooting.Experience working in a regulated, safety-critical or high-reliability product environment.Experience taking electronics from prototype development into series production. What’s in it for you?An excellent salary package.38 paid days off per year.Lunch provided every working day.A pragmatic, low-bureaucracy engineering environment where you can make decisions and see the impact of your work.Plenty of room to shape your role and technical scope.A highly hands-on position with genuine ownership of the hardware you develop.A collaborative team environment with regular team events.
