Our staff leads the industrial markets engineering process and collaborates with Kiewit’s construction teams to approach construction-driven engineering with a focus on safe, cost-effective, and innovative designs that achieve client expectations and further Kiewit’s legacy of excellence.LocationThis position is based out of our Lenexa, KS office.ResponsibilitiesChecking manufacturer's wiring drawings, one-line diagrams, schematics, data sheets and similar drawingsResearching and analyzing requirements from various engineering standards, contracts and proposal documentsPreparing basic engineering calculations and drawings following Kiewit Power Engineers standardsProviding draft equipment specifications for major electrical equipmentPerforming bid evaluationsCoordinating electrical equipment contracts directly with equipment vendorsMaintaining engineering records and lists as requiredDeveloping and managing cable and termination information utilizing plant design softwareCoordinating work with other engineers, designers, project managers, construction personnel and vendorsDeveloping familiarity with departmental design standards, applicable engineering codes, and Kiewit Power Engineers policiesQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education And/or ExperienceThe individual must: Have a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution Above 3.0 cumulative GPA preferred Demonstrate interest in power systems engineering Possess excellent organizational and communication skills Be a team playerComputer SkillsMust be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
