Role DescriptionAn Electrical Engineer / Quality Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, inspecting, maintaining, and improving electrical systems, equipment, components, and engineering processes while ensuring products, installations, and technical activities meet established quality, safety, reliability, and regulatory standards. The role combines electrical engineering expertise with quality assurance, inspection, testing, defect prevention, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.Key responsibilities include designing and reviewing electrical systems, circuits, control panels, power-distribution systems, wiring systems, protection systems, electrical equipment, and related infrastructure; preparing electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, calculations, inspection plans, test procedures, technical reports, and engineering documentation; performing electrical load calculations, voltage-drop assessments, grounding studies, short-circuit analysis, protection coordination, and power-quality evaluations; selecting and evaluating electrical components, cables, switchgear, transformers, motors, protection devices, control equipment, instrumentation, and other technical materials; conducting inspections, testing, commissioning, verification, and quality assessments of electrical equipment and installations; developing and implementing quality-control procedures, inspection standards, testing requirements, control plans, and acceptance criteria; monitoring electrical products, components, installations, and processes to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, drawings, standards, and customer requirements; identifying electrical defects, nonconformities, process deviations, installation issues, equipment failures, and quality risks; conducting root-cause analysis using 5 Whys, Fishbone Analysis, FMEA, Pareto Analysis, and other structured problem-solving methods; developing, implementing, and monitoring corrective and preventive actions; validating corrective actions and preventing recurring quality issues; coordinating with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, production teams, maintenance teams, project managers, suppliers, contractors, manufacturers, and customers; conducting supplier inspections, incoming-quality inspections, process inspections, and final inspections where applicable; reviewing supplier documentation, certificates, test reports, technical specifications, and quality records; supporting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), equipment commissioning, and functional verification; analyzing quality data, test results, defect trends, failure rates, process capability, and equipment performance; applying Statistical Process Control (SPC), quality metrics, process capability analysis, Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous-improvement techniques; preparing quality reports, nonconformance reports, inspection records, corrective-action reports, dashboards, and management presentations; supporting internal and external audits and maintaining quality-management requirements; supporting ISO-based quality systems and engineering standards; monitoring electrical equipment reliability, maintenance performance, energy efficiency, and operational risks; identifying opportunities to improve electrical-system reliability, product quality, process efficiency, safety, and cost effectiveness; utilizing automated inspection systems, machine vision, IoT sensors, predictive analytics, AI-assisted defect detection, digital quality systems, and engineering data analytics where appropriate; supporting engineering changes, new product introduction, equipment upgrades, manufacturing improvements, and process-validation activities; and continuously improving electrical engineering performance, product quality, defect prevention, process capability, safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction.QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, electrical systems, power distribution, control systems, instrumentation, electrical equipment, and engineering testing.Strong knowledge of quality assurance, quality control, inspection, testing, defect prevention, and continuous-improvement methodologies.Knowledge of electrical design, load calculations, cable sizing, grounding, protection systems, control panels, and electrical installation practices.Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, EPLAN, MATLAB, or equivalent engineering platforms.Strong understanding of FMEA, SPC, CAPA, 5 Whys, Fishbone Analysis, Pareto Analysis, control plans, and root-cause analysis.Familiarity with ISO 9001 and relevant electrical, engineering, manufacturing, or industry-specific quality standards.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, diagnostic, inspection, and problem-solving skills.Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, technical specifications, engineering standards, inspection requirements, and test procedures.Knowledge of electrical testing, commissioning, equipment inspection, functional testing, and quality verification.Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA, automation, instrumentation, sensors, and industrial control systems is advantageous.Understanding of supplier quality, incoming inspection, production quality, process validation, and customer-quality requirements.Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and continuous-improvement methodologies is beneficial.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Power BI, statistical-analysis software, quality-management systems, or engineering databases.Familiarity with automated inspection, machine vision, IoT monitoring, predictive-quality analytics, AI-powered defect detection, and digital quality systems is advantageous.Strong technical documentation, reporting, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, production, procurement, maintenance, suppliers, contractors, project teams, and customers.Relevant certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma, Lean, ISO Auditor, or professional engineering credentials are advantageous.Strong attention to detail, technical accuracy, safety awareness, accountability, and quality-focused mindset.Strong commitment to continuous improvement, engineering innovation, defect prevention, electrical-system reliability, and operational excellence.
