Role DescriptionAn Electrical Engineer / Quality Engineer is responsible for combining electrical engineering expertise with quality assurance and quality control to ensure electrical systems, equipment, components, installations, and project deliverables meet technical, safety, performance, and quality requirements. The role covers engineering design, inspection, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, compliance, and continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, review, test, commission, and maintain electrical systems, equipment, components, and installations.Prepare electrical drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, calculations, specifications, and technical documentation.Conduct electrical inspections, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance verification.Review electrical materials, equipment, components, and installations against approved specifications and standards.Develop and implement electrical quality-control and quality-assurance procedures.Prepare inspection and test plans, quality checklists, inspection criteria, and acceptance requirements.Conduct inspections of electrical installations, equipment, materials, and workmanship.Identify defects, non-conformities, technical discrepancies, and quality issues.Investigate electrical failures and quality problems using root-cause analysis.Develop and monitor corrective and preventive actions.Review technical drawings, method statements, material submittals, test reports, certificates, and supplier documentation.Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, manufacturers, consultants, engineers, technicians, and project teams.Verify electrical installations comply with approved drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and safety requirements.Support factory acceptance tests, site acceptance tests, commissioning activities, and equipment verification.Perform electrical measurements, functional tests, equipment checks, and quality inspections.Monitor supplier and contractor quality performance and support supplier evaluations.Maintain inspection records, test reports, non-conformance reports, corrective-action records, and quality documentation.Support internal, external, client, supplier, and regulatory audits.Monitor quality KPIs, defect trends, rework, inspection findings, and corrective-action performance.Review electrical equipment specifications and support procurement and technical evaluation activities.Assist with preventive maintenance, reliability improvement, equipment upgrades, and electrical-system optimization.Ensure proper calibration and control of electrical testing and measurement equipment.Support energy-efficiency initiatives, electrical reliability programs, and engineering improvement projects.Utilize CAD, BIM, electrical testing equipment, quality-management systems, ERP platforms, data analytics, and digital inspection tools.Apply automation, digital quality platforms, predictive maintenance, and AI-assisted engineering tools where appropriate.Prepare technical reports, inspection summaries, quality reports, engineering assessments, and management updates.Participate in design reviews, site meetings, quality meetings, technical workshops, and project coordination sessions.Identify opportunities to improve electrical-system performance, product quality, reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.Promote a strong culture of engineering quality, compliance, safety, and continuous improvement.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Quality Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related discipline.Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, electrical equipment, control systems, testing, and commissioning.Understanding of quality-control and quality-assurance principles, inspection procedures, and engineering standards.Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, technical documentation, and inspection requirements.Strong knowledge of electrical testing, troubleshooting, defect identification, and root-cause analysis.Familiarity with ISO 9001 and relevant engineering quality standards.Knowledge of non-conformance management, corrective and preventive actions, inspection and test plans, and quality audits.Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, electrical testing tools, ERP systems, or quality-management software is advantageous.Strong analytical, technical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.Strong communication and coordination skills with engineers, contractors, suppliers, inspectors, and project teams.Understanding of electrical safety standards, regulatory requirements, and industry practices.Familiarity with data analytics, digital inspection systems, automation, and predictive-quality technologies is beneficial.Relevant professional engineering or quality certifications are advantageous.Strong documentation, reporting, organization, and time-management abilities.High level of professionalism, technical judgment, accountability, safety awareness, and commitment to quality excellence.
