Apply & track with Apply EdgeAbout the RoleWe are seeking a skilled Low Current / ELV Technician to perform installation, testing, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and corrective maintenance activities for Extra-Low Voltage (ELV) and low-current systems within building facilities and Operations & Maintenance environments.The role requires practical hands-on experience with building ELV systems, including CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarm, Structured Cabling, Intercom, Public Address (PA/BGM), SMATV/IPTV, and related low-current infrastructure.The technician will be responsible for ensuring ELV systems remain operational, reliable, and compliant with site requirements and safety procedures.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair low-current / ELV systems within buildings and facilities.Perform installation and maintenance of CCTV cameras, recording systems, monitors, and related equipment.Install, test, and troubleshoot Access Control systems, including card readers, controllers, magnetic locks, exit buttons, and associated devices.Perform basic installation, testing, and maintenance of Fire Alarm system devices, including detectors, manual call points, sounders, modules, and field wiring.Install and maintain structured cabling systems, including data/voice cables, patch panels, cabinets, outlets, and cable management.Perform installation and maintenance of Public Address (PA), Background Music (BGM), Intercom, SMATV/IPTV, and similar ELV systems.Trace and troubleshoot cable faults, connectivity issues, device failures, and system alarms.Terminate and test cables using appropriate tools and testing equipment.Read and interpret basic ELV drawings, layouts, schematics, cable schedules, and wiring diagrams.Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and identify potential system failures before they affect operations.Perform corrective maintenance and replace defective devices, components, cables, and accessories as required.Verify system functionality after installation, repair, or maintenance activities.Maintain proper labeling, routing, termination, and organization of ELV cables and equipment.Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and other maintenance teams when troubleshooting system-related issues.Record completed maintenance activities, identified faults, spare parts used, and required follow-up actions.Follow site safety procedures, permit requirements, PPE requirements, and manufacturer recommendations.Maintain tools, testing equipment, and work areas in safe and good working condition.Respond to assigned maintenance requests and emergency faults within the required response time.Perform other ELV-related technical duties as assigned by the supervisor.Required Technical SkillsPractical hands-on experience with ELV / Low Current systems.Knowledge of one or more of the following systems:CCTVAccess ControlFire AlarmStructured Cabling / Data NetworksPublic Address / BGMIntercomSMATV / IPTVGate Barrier / Parking SystemsOther building ELV systemsAbility to identify and troubleshoot basic electrical and ELV faults.Ability to perform cable pulling, termination, labeling, testing, and fault tracing.Ability to use basic ELV testing equipment and hand tools.Ability to read basic ELV drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.Basic understanding of IP addressing, network connectivity, and Ethernet cabling is an advantage.Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.Good understanding of technical safety procedures and PPE requirements.Qualifications & ExperienceTechnical diploma, certificate, or recognized vocational qualification in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, ELV, Low Current Systems, or a related technical discipline.Relevant experience in building facilities, Operations & Maintenance, Facility Management, construction, or ELV projects.Candidates should meet one of the following experience/qualification combinations:Minimum 2 years of relevant experience with a three-year technical diploma.Minimum 4 years of relevant experience with a two-year technical certificate.Minimum 6 years of relevant experience with a one-year apprenticeship or vocational certificate.Experience working on commercial buildings, residential compounds, hospitals, hotels, malls, airports, or large facilities is an advantage.Basic English communication skills.Ability to follow technical instructions and work effectively under supervision.Willingness to complete a technical / ELV trade disciplined, and reliable.Work EnvironmentThe position is based within building facilities and Operations & Maintenance environments and may require working in plant rooms, electrical/ELV rooms, ceilings, risers, equipment rooms, and other technical areas.The technician may be required to work shifts, respond to emergency maintenance requests, and perform tasks in accordance with site
