The role involves installing, testing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in buildings during construction and after completion.The successful candidate will lead site activities, guide junior technicians, troubleshoot electrical faults, and ensure work meets project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall and modify electrical systems, including conduits, cable trays, wiring, distribution boards, lighting, sockets, and associated equipment.Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, layouts, and project specifications.Carry out electrical work on new construction projects, building renovations, and occupied properties.Diagnose and repair faults in wiring, circuits, panels, and electrical equipment.Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building electrical systems.Conduct electrical inspections, testing, and commissioning, and document results.Lead small teams of technicians and helpers, allocate daily tasks, and check completed work.Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and other trades to keep site activities on schedule.Identify material and equipment requirements and report shortages promptly.Maintain accurate records of work completed, faults identified, repairs, and outstanding issues.Follow approved safety procedures, including safe isolation, lockout/tagout, and proper use of personal protective equipment.Support project handover by resolving outstanding items and reporting installation changes for as-built documentation.Qualifications and ExperienceDiploma, technical certificate, or vocational qualification in electrical installation, maintenance, or a related field.At least five years of relevant experience in building electrical installation, preferably with an electrical contractor.Experience supervising or guiding technicians and helpers.Strong practical knowledge of building electrical systems, fault finding, and testing.Ability to read electrical drawings and use electrical test instruments correctly.Familiarity with applicable local electrical codes, project standards, and site safety requirements.Relevant electrical licence or certification, where required.A valid driving licence is preferred.Skills and Personal QualitiesStrong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.Ability to plan daily work and manage site priorities.Clear communication and effective teamwork.Reliable, safety-conscious, and committed to quality workmanship.Professional conduct when working with clients and in occupied buildings.Willingness to travel between project sites and attend urgent maintenance work when required.How to ApplySend your CV and relevant qualifications to [info@afifiac.com & a.khater@afifiac.com], with “Senior Electrical Technician” in the subject line.
