Animage benefits from deep expertise in 3D imaging, tomographic reconstruction, and visualisation for medical and non-destructive testing applications.Role Description: This is a full-time Electronic & Embedded Systems Engineer role based in Singapore/Malaysia or the Philippines, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows some work from home, with attendance at the office in Singapore. The engineer will design, develop, and maintain electronic circuits and embedded systems for veterinary diagnostic imaging equipment, including hardware interfaces and control systems. Day-to-day activities include creating schematics, selecting components, performing PCB-level design reviews, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware and embedded software. The role involves developing, testing, and debugging embedded firmware to ensure reliability, safety, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. The engineer will also support prototyping, system integration, and field issue analysis, working closely with manufacturing and service teams to improve product performance and quality.What you will ownElectronics engineering: Understand, review, troubleshoot and improve electronic circuits, components, interfaces, power systems, motion-control electronics and sensor integration.NI hardware and LabVIEW: Develop, maintain and diagnose LabVIEW applications and National Instruments embedded/data-acquisition hardware used to connect physical sensors and actuators to the control computer, including gantry movement and related machine functions.Product development: Support hardware architecture, schematic review, component selection, prototyping, design verification and engineering changes for new and existing products.Systems integration: Work across electronics, embedded controls, mechanics and software to isolate root causes and deliver reliable fixes.Global technical escalation: Provide high-level remote and on-site support for complex faults, installations, upgrades and refurbishments.Documentation: Create and maintain schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of materials, design records, test procedures, troubleshooting guides and service manuals.Knowledge transfer: Build repeatable diagnostic methods and train service colleagues, dealers and customers so critical knowledge is retained within the business.Quality and safety: Apply appropriate engineering controls, risk awareness and safety practices when working with medical imaging equipment and motion systems.Highly regardedExperience with CT, X-ray, MRI or other medical/veterinary imaging systems.Experience designing or supporting safety-critical, regulated or high-reliability equipment.PCB design, design-for-manufacture, EMC/EMI, test automation or component-obsolescence experience.Experience supporting equipment throughout its lifecycle, from R&D and production to installation, refurbishment and field service.Location and international travelThe preferred base is Singapore. We will also consider an experienced remote contractor based in Malaysia or the Philippines who can work effectively with the regional and global team. The role requires regular international travel, potentially at short notice, including to Australia, Europe, the Middle East and other customer locations.
