The area is also noted nationally for its strong housing market and quality of life, making it an appealing community for education professionals.Role Description The Elementary School Counselor is a full-time, on-site role located in Queensbury, NY. This position provides comprehensive counseling services to elementary students, including individual and small-group counseling, classroom guidance lessons, and social-emotional learning support. The counselor collaborates with teachers, administrators, caregivers, and support staff to address academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs and to develop intervention plans. Daily responsibilities include assessing student needs, facilitating referrals to internal and external resources, supporting crisis response, and maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with district policies and regulations. The counselor also participates in school-wide initiatives, contributes to multi-tiered systems of support, and engages in ongoing professional development to align services with best practices and district goals.QualificationsNew York State certification (or eligibility) as a School Counselor.
