Students that learn, excel, and grow.VISION:To create the world’s most accessible and innovative English language school that changes lives through education that makes a fundamental difference to living standards.Role Purpose:As an ELICOS teacher, you are responsible for engaging students in the learning process to ensure learner outcomes are maximised and students enjoy interesting and stimulating lessons. Courses initially will include General English and IELTS preparation. Teachers may be assigned to any courses based on experience and qualifications. Additional responsibilities may include developing materials and resources, conducting student assessments, planning and/or leading social program activities, and participating in professional development (PD) sessions.Role and Responsibilities• Plan, deliver, and assess student work in accordance with course requirements and student needs, ensuring all learning outcomes are achieved.• Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance, completing administrative tasks as required by the Director of Studies.• Develop, update, and improve course materials as needed.• Utilise a variety of teaching methods and materials, including live online learning where appropriate.• Attend meetings to contribute to decision-making processes and foster productive working relationships with team members.• Be present on-site at least 15 minutes before the start of the first lesson.• Participate in regular performance reviews with the Director of Studies to set and measure objectives.• Attend induction programs for new teachers and participate in regular training sessions.• Attend monthly PD sessions, with TESOL-qualified teachers encouraged to lead development or training workshops as needed.• Undertake other responsibilities to support the effective delivery of ELICOS programs.Essential Skills and Experience• Teaching Qualifications: A minimum of a Certificate IV in TESOL or equivalent is essential.• Teaching Qualifications: A Master of Education (TESOL), Graduate Certificate in TESOL, or equivalent qualification at the postgraduate level (highly desirable).• A minimum bachelor’s degree in any subject.• A structured and creative approach to lesson planning.• A commitment to professional development and supporting less experienced teachers.• Experience providing constructive feedback to students.• Experience teaching both online and face-to-face learners.• Proficiency in using classroom technology effectively and creatively.• Professionalism in interactions with colleagues and students.• Flexibility, adaptability, and a positive attitude.• Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage a personal workload effectively.• High levels of motivation and the ability to work with minimal supervision.• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and demonstrate enthusiasm for teamwork.Safeguarding and Welfare Responsibilities• Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students.• Promote the mental and physical well-being of students and provide pastoral care as needed.• Manage classroom behavior effectively, with the support of the Director of Studies or other academic leaders.• Be familiar with and adhere to institutional policies related to safeguarding, welfare, and student attendance.• Maintain awareness of and comply with relevant legal and ethical responsibilities, including Mandatory Reporting obligations.• Support vulnerable students and report concerns regarding their safety or well-being to the designated Safeguarding Lead.• Assist in maintaining a child-safe environment by following all protocols related to working with minors, including holding a valid Working with Children Check.OTHER INFORMATION:The ELICOS Teacher will also be expected to demonstrate their commitment:• To EP’s values and regulations, including equal opportunities policy.• To EP’s Social, Economic and Environmental responsibilities and minimise environmental impact in the performance of the role and actively contribute to the delivery of EP’s Environmental Policy.• To EP’s Health and Safety responsibilities to ensure their contribution to a safe and secure working environment for staff, students, and other visitors to the campus.English Path is an Equal Opportunity Employer:English Path is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
