Our work spans the full product lifecycle, from early architecture and prototyping to production and field deployment.We are growing our embedded software engineering capability to support the development and delivery of production-grade electronic products.About the RoleWe are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer who can take ownership of embedded software features from architecture through production. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on C/C++, Python, protocol integration, Hardware-in-the-Loop testing, board bring-up, and resolving real-world technical challenges across software and hardware.You will work closely with international hardware and software teams to develop reliable embedded systems and production-grade electronic products.Core ResponsibilitiesEmbedded Software DevelopmentOwn the design and implementation of embedded software features in C/C++ for microcontrollers and embedded processors.Develop low-level firmware, device drivers, middleware, control logic, and application software for bare-metal and RTOS-based systems.Drive technical design discussions and deliver maintainable, testable, and well-documented code for production products.Collaborate with hardware and software engineers on system architecture, interfaces, and design trade-offs.Protocols, Integration & DebuggingImplement, integrate, and debug wired and wireless communication protocols such as CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, Modbus, EtherCAT, BLE, and Wi-Fi.Characterization (Reverse-engineering) and control of challenging digital and analog communication systems.Perform hands-on board and system bring-up, including debugging electronics, sensors, actuators, peripherals, and battery-powered devices.Use debuggers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, traces, and logs to diagnose timing, communication, and system-level issues.Product Development, HIL & ValidationTake end-to-end ownership of embedded software feature development, from early prototypes through validation, production, and field deployment.Own and maintain Hardware-in-the-Loop infrastructure, automated tests, development tooling, and reliable integration and release workflows.Use AI-native engineering workflows to accelerate coding, debugging, testing, documentation, and technical investigation.Customer Support & Root Cause AnalysisProvide hands-on support to customers and field technicians, investigating software, firmware, and system issues.Perform root cause analysis (RCA), reproduce failures, and develop robust technical solutions.Provide hardware design or schematic-review support where applicable, and help drive practical system-level solutions.Required Experience & SkillsMust-Haves3+ years of experience in embedded software/ firmware engineering.Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilityStrong professional experience with C and C++ in embedded environments.Strong professional experience with Python for automation, test infrastructure, tooling, or analysis.Substantial contribution to at least two production-grade hardware products or embedded systems.Practical experience implementing and debugging wired and wireless communication protocols, hardware interfaces, and battery-powered devices.Strong hands-on skills in board bring-up, testing, and low-level debugging across software and hardware.Comfort using AI-assisted engineering workflows alongside version control, issue tracking, and project-management tools.Professional working proficiency in EnglishNice-to-HavesHardware schematics design skills.Experience in signal processing.Experience building or maintaining Hardware-in-the-Loop and automated test infrastructure.Engineering leadership experience, including driving design discussions, mentoring, or coordinating technical work.Experience supporting production, manufacturing, or field-deployed electronic products.Why Join Better DevicesFast Pace EngineeringWork in a team that values first-principles thinking, ownership, and high engineering standards.
