Embedded Software & FPGA Developer:Title: Embedded Software & FPGA Developer (Pitäjänmäki)Location: Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki, Finland (Hybrid: 2 days onsite / 3 days remote)Assignment Period: 01 Sep 2026 – 01 Sep 2027 (Long-term multi-year project, renewed quarterly)Workload: 37.5 hours / week (100% allocation)Languages: Fluent English (Written & Spoken)Recann is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.About the Role:We are seeking an Embedded Software Developer with FPGA expertise to join an industrial engineering initiative in Helsinki.You will contribute to developing a new converter variant for the ACS880 industrial drive family, focusing on control algorithms and lower layers of the software stack.Key Responsibilities:Develop embedded software and FPGA solutions for industrial power converters and variable frequency drives.Execute FPGA design using VHDL from requirements analysis through to test benches.Implement control engineering algorithms and lower-layer software stack functionality.Utilize modern CI/CD practices including unit testing, static code analysis, and automated hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.Requirements:Hands-on proficiency in C, C++, and Python.Proven FPGA development experience using VHDL alongside Altera or AMD suites.Familiarity with DevOps tooling (Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Klocwork).Strong interest or background in power electronics, control engineering, and industrial automation.Nice-to-Have: Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) systems.If you are interested, or you know someone that could be, please reach out and we can arrange a time to speak?
