Embedded System Engineer

Role : Software Application Engineer (Vision)Location: BengaluruExperience: 1-3 YearsWhat you will do :1. Work with senior engineers to set up and maintain industrial camera and lightingsystems for EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) defect detection.2. Learn to calculate camera, lens, and lighting parameters — sensor size, field of view,depth of field — and apply them to achieve repeatable image capture on the factoryfloor.3. Assist in designing lighting configurations that make specific manufacturing defectsclearly visible.4. Build a working understanding of radiometry, photometry, and photogrammetry asapplied to calibration and optical inspection.5. Support camera calibration, stereo vision setups, and depth estimation experimentsunder guidance.6. Apply classical image processing and computer vision techniques (OpenCV) topreprocess images, extract features, and prototype deterministic inspection algorithms.7. Help integrate vision software with factory workflows and production systems.8. Capture, validate, and curate high-quality image datasets for model training andevaluation.Preferred Qualification :1. Bachelor's/Master's in CS, EC, or related branches; candidates from other backgroundswith a strong skill match are also considered.2. Strong fundamentals in Deep Learning (vision models, modern architectures) along withLinear Algebra and 3D Geometry for optics and machine vision.3. Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, OOP, and multithreading/concurrency basics.4. Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Bash; C++ exposure is a plus.5. Sound understanding of database management concepts — schema design, indexing,normalization, and query optimization.NMTronics (NEST Division) builds automation solutions for the Electronics ManufacturingServices (EMS) industry. As part of this role, the candidate is expected to be eager to learnabout EMS manufacturing processes during the initial stages of onboarding, and to stay flexiblein picking up a wide range of technical skills. This learning mindset is essential, as the roleinvolves supporting and contributing across the entire product development lifecycle — fromunderstanding the factory floor to helping build and refine the final product.
