As Embedded Systems Engineer, you'll own the technical heart of their product (the smart collar) ensuring it performs reliably in real-world farm conditions while scaling to thousands of devices across multiple markets.What are you going to do?As Embedded Systems Engineer at Collie, you take ownership of critical embedded systems that power their innovative farm management technology. Working directly with experienced founders and hardware engineers, you design, develop, and optimize the software that enables farmers to manage their herds efficiently. Your work directly impacts product reliability, performance, and customer trust in real-world agricultural environments.Tasks and responsibilities:Design and develop embedded software for Collie's hardware devices, focusing on reliability and real-world performanceArchitect and implement connectivity solutions including mesh networks and low-power communication protocolsOptimize power efficiency and battery performance across diverse farm environments and weather conditionsContribute to system architecture decisions and technical strategy as the engineering team scalesEstablish test automation frameworks and validation processes to ensure product quality at scaleDebug complex field issues and implement solutions that enhance reliability across deployed devicesCollaborate closely with hardware engineers and founders to integrate software and hardware seamlesslyThe offerJoin a flat, no-nonsense engineering culture where your contributions directly shape a tangible product used daily by farmers.
