Experience: 1+ years | Location: Bengaluru | Type: Full-timeAbout the role:We are hiring an embedded systems engineer to own the ECU / FADEC (Full Authority Digital Engine Control) software for a small turbojet engine end-to-end - from control architecture and real-time firmware through drivers, communication, fault handling, and validation on bench, hardware-in-the-loop, and engine tests.

Responsibilities

Own the full engine control software lifecycle: requirements, architecture, implementation, integration, and test.Design and implement the FADEC control state machine: startup sequencing, steady-state governing, shutdown, and fault/recovery states, with defined transitions and interlocks.Develop real-time firmware in C/C++ on STM32 / ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers under an RTOS: task partitioning, scheduling, interrupt structure, and deterministic timing.Write and validate peripheral and sensor/actuator drivers: ADC, PWM, timers, UART, SPI, I2C, and CAN.Implement sensor acquisition and filtering, actuator command generation, and closed-loop control (e.g., fuel and speed governing) in coordination with hardware and controls engineers.Implement fault detection, safe-state logic, redundancy management, data logging, and telemetry.Integrate communication protocols (CAN and serial/RS-485; additional buses as required) for control, telemetry, and ground-support interfaces.Build and maintain test infrastructure: unit tests, bench scripts, HIL rigs, and engine ground-test support.Debug on target hardware using JTAG/SWD, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.Maintain code under version control with design, interface, and test documentation. Required Qualifications:B.E./B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Science, or a related discipline.1+ years of embedded development experience in C and C++.Real-time software experience on an RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or similar): scheduling, priorities, and deterministic behavior.Hands-on STM32 / ARM Cortex-M development: peripherals, interrupts, memory constraints, and cross-compilation toolchains.Demonstrated finite state machine (FSM) design and implementation for real-time control systems.Driver-level protocol experience: CAN, UART/RS-485, SPI, I2C.On-target debugging proficiency (JTAG/SWD, oscilloscope, logic analyzer).

Preferred Qualifications

Exposure to FADEC, ECU, engine control, or motor/power-electronics control software.Control systems implementation (e.g., PID loops, governing, tuning).Safety-oriented coding practices (MISRA C or equivalent).Fault-tolerant or redundant system design.Python for test automation.
