The successful candidate will work across firmware architecture, low-level programming, hardware integration, system validation, and performance optimization.🎯 Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop embedded firmware for microcontrollers, processors, and intelligent electronic devices.
- Translate product and system requirements into detailed firmware specifications and technical designs.
- Develop low-level firmware and hardware abstraction layers for embedded platforms.
- Program and optimize embedded applications using C, C++, and other suitable programming languages.
- Develop peripheral drivers for sensors, displays, memory devices, communication modules, and other hardware components.
- Integrate firmware with hardware components and validate system-level functionality.
- Work with hardware engineers to troubleshoot hardware and firmware integration issues.
- Implement communication interfaces including I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, USB, Ethernet, and wireless protocols where applicable.
- Develop real-time applications using RTOS environments and appropriate scheduling and synchronization techniques.
- Configure microcontroller peripherals, timers, interrupts, DMA, GPIO, ADC, PWM, and communication interfaces.
- Perform firmware debugging and fault isolation using JTAG, SWD, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and debugging tools.
- Analyze system performance, memory usage, processing requirements, power consumption, and response times.
- Optimize firmware for reliability, efficiency, scalability, and resource utilization.
- Develop and execute unit, integration, functional, and system-level firmware tests.
- Create automated test scripts and validation procedures for embedded software.
- Support prototype development, engineering builds, product verification, and production testing.
- Investigate field issues, firmware defects, system failures, and intermittent hardware-software problems.
- Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions for technical issues.
- Manage firmware versions, source code, configurations, and release branches using version-control systems.
- Participate in peer code reviews and ensure compliance with coding and software-development standards.
- Maintain technical documentation including architecture specifications, interface definitions, test plans, and release notes.
- Support firmware deployment, product updates, bootloader processes, and over-the-air updates where applicable.
- Collaborate with QA, manufacturing, product management, hardware, software, and engineering teams.
- Evaluate new embedded platforms, processors, development tools, libraries, and technologies.
- Contribute to improvements in firmware architecture, development methodology, testing processes, and product reliability.✅ Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Professional experience in embedded systems, firmware engineering, embedded software, or electronic product development.
- Strong programming experience in C and C++.
- Solid understanding of microcontroller architecture, embedded memory, interrupts, timers, peripherals, and real-time processing.
- Experience working with ARM Cortex-M, ARM Cortex-A, or other embedded processor architectures.
- Strong knowledge of hardware communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, USB, or Ethernet.
- Experience developing device drivers and hardware abstraction layers is preferred.
- Familiarity with RTOS platforms such as FreeRTOS, Zephyr, ThreadX, or similar systems.
- Experience using embedded development environments, compilers, debuggers, and flashing tools.
- Proficiency with Git or other version-control systems.
- Understanding of embedded software architecture, modular design, and coding standards.
- Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics, datasheets, reference designs, and technical specifications.
- Experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG/SWD debuggers, and other electronic test equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities.
- Familiarity with automated testing, unit testing, integration testing, and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
- Knowledge of embedded Linux, bootloaders, device trees, or Linux device drivers is an advantage.
- Understanding of low-power design, power-management techniques, and resource-constrained systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of secure boot, firmware security, encryption, or embedded cybersecurity is advantageous.
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Experience in IoT, consumer electronics, automotive, industrial automation, robotics, medical devices, or telecommunications is an advantage.🌟 What We Offer
