Our EMTs operate primarily in the following divisions:Interfacility Transport (BLS, ALS, & CCT): Assist in the care and transportation of patients from hospitals across southern CaliforniaEvent Safety: As a leader in emergency event medical safety, Symbiosis provides its employees with medical experience at large-scale productions such as raves, music festivals, and motorsport racesBenefits Include:Flexible schedulePaid sick leave401(k)Medical, vision, and dental insuranceCPR classesContinuing education and skillsSchool friendly scheduleEmergency Medical Technician (EMT) Responsibilities:Provide EMT shift coverage based on call volume needsResponds to instructions from dispatch and drives the emergency vehicle to specified locationsDetermines nature and extent of illness or injury, or magnitude of catastrophe, in order to establish the basic life support procedures needed to be followed, basing decisions on statements of persons involved, the examination of victim or victims, and knowledge of the emergency medical practiceRemoves or assists in the removal of victims from vehicles, or the scene of an accident or catastrophe, and assists in the transfer of victims to receiving facilitiesTakes and records a patient's vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and respiratory rateAdministers prescribed treatment at the site of an emergency, or in specially equipped vehicles, performing such activities as first aid, immobilization of injuries, application of splints, administration of oxygen, treatment of minor wounds or abrasions, or administration of basic life support proceduresAssists admitting and billing personnel to obtain and record information related to the patient's vital statistics and to establish the necessity for medical transportationCompletes field care report patient billing /trip ticket and daily driver's unit checkout formAssist with equipment, medication, and supply inventory managementOn-call coverageEmergency Medical Technician (EMT) Basic Qualifications:California state EMT card requiredAmerican Heart Association or Red Cross Healthcare Provider CPR Certification requiredCA driver’s license required and must have an excellent driving recordMedical Examiner’s Certificate requiredAmbulance Driver’s Certificate (ADC) requiredEmergency Medical Technician (EMT) Preferred Skills/Experience:Knowledge of modern EMS principles, procedures, techniques, and equipmentAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writingReading, writing, comprehension, and basic mathematical skills are requiredCritical thinking skills and ability to solve problemsMust maintain calm in stressful and chaotic situationsEmergency Medical Technician (EMT) Physical Requirements:Prolonged periods of standing, walking and liftingMust be able to lift up to 100 pounds at times with or without assistanceWork Location: In personPayrate: $17.00Full Time, 8 hour shiftsPowered by JazzHR7m1rAddoYp
