As an EMT with Northwest Ambulance, you will provide pre-hospital and interfacility care, transport patients safely, and represent our organization with professionalism and heart.What You'll DoAs an NWA EMT, your core responsibilities will include:Policy & Protocol Compliance — Strictly follow Northwest Ambulance policies, procedures, and County Medical ProtocolsTimely Task & Documentation Completion — Efficiently complete assigned duties and submit required paperwork promptlyPunctuality & Attentiveness — Report to shifts on time and remain alert, focused, and engaged throughout each callAccurate Documentation — Ensure the accuracy of all patient and operational records in accordance with company policies and proceduresPatient Safety — Identify and mitigate potential risks to patient safety in accordance with established proceduresSafe Vehicle Operation — Operate the ambulance safely and responsibly, in full compliance with Washington State laws and company regulationsTeam Collaboration — Partner with dispatchers, leadership, and crew members to deliver compassionate, timely care—especially during unexpected or high-pressure situationsIntegrity & Service Excellence — Act with integrity, support the mission and values of Northwest Ambulance, and consistently exceed patient and customer expectationsProfessional Appearance — Maintain a clean, polished appearance and uphold high uniform standardsVehicle Readiness — Keep the ambulance clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout every shiftAdditional Duties — Perform other tasks as assigned to support team and operational needsRequirementsRequired:Current Washington State EMT certification (or NREMT with WA reciprocity eligibility)Valid Driver's License - must have maintained for 2 years or longerClean driving record - Over 21 years old - limit of 3 citations in past 36 months or under 21 years old - limit of 1 citation in the past 36 months (DUI and other serious offenses may disqualify candidacy)Current CPR/BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)High school diploma or equivalentAbility to pass a background check, drug screen, and physicalStrong communication, teamwork, and customer service skillsAbility to work extended shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidayMust be at least 18 years of agePreferred Skills & AbilitiesExcellent oral and written communication abilitiesOutstanding interpersonal and customer service skillsProficiency in understanding vital signs, including the correct measurement and interpretation of valuesCapability to operate an oversize vehicle smoothly and safelyExceptional organizational skills and attention to detailSuperb time management capabilitiesStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to perform effectively in a fast-paced and occasionally stressful environmentAbility to complete comprehensive and billable reports for each patient interactionPrior experience in interfacility transport or 911 responseFamiliarity with ESO or similar ePCR documentation systemsPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift, carry, and move up to 75 lbs and perform repeated bending, kneeling, and liftingAbility to bend and stoop, ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time, possess hand-eye-foot coordination and color recognition, good manual dexterity, with the ability to perform all tasks related to Emergency Medical Services DutyMay be periods of prolonged sitting in a vehicle and working on a computerAbility to work in varied weather conditions and high-stress environmentsBenefitsWhat you can expect from us:We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance to ensure the well-being and health of our employees.Regular, non-exempt field employees who are scheduled to work on designated holidays are paid a premium holiday rate of 1.5 times their regular rate for all hours worked on the holiday.Our commitment to your financial future is reflected in our generous 401k program. Shifts are either 11, 12, or 13 hours long and have different start times ranging from 4am to 8pm.
