Position OverviewThe Emergency Unit Supervisor is responsible for providing day-to-day operational leadership of the Emergency Department (ED), ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and patient-centered emergency care. The role oversees departmental operations, coordinates multidisciplinary teams, supervises frontline staff, and promotes compliance with clinical governance, patient safety, and regulatory standards. Working closely with the Medical Services Manager, the Emergency Unit Supervisor supports the continuous improvement of emergency services while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.Key OutcomesSafe, timely, and high-quality emergency care is consistently delivered in accordance with Aspen Medical standards and applicable regulations.Efficient patient flow is maintained throughout the Emergency Department, minimizing delays and optimizing patient experience.Emergency Department operations are effectively coordinated to ensure appropriate staffing, resource availability, and service continuity.Clinical governance, patient safety, infection prevention, and quality standards are consistently maintained.A collaborative, accountable, and high-performing multidisciplinary team culture is fostered through effective leadership and communication.Operational risks, incidents, and service issues are identified, escalated, and managed appropriately to support continuous improvement.Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesA. Operational LeadershipSupervise the daily operations of the ED to ensure safe, effective, and efficient service deliveryCoordinate patient flow from triage through assessment, treatment, admission, transfer, or discharge to optimize patient outcomes and department efficiencyMonitor department capacity, staffing levels, and operational demands, escalating issues where appropriateEnsure emergency equipment, supplies, and treatment areas are operationally ready at all times.B. Leadership & People ManagementProvide day-to-day leadership, supervision, and support to ED staffPromote a positive, collaborative, and patient-centered workplace cultureSupport staff development through coaching, mentoring, and performance feedbackCoordinate workforce planning, staff rostering, and daily staff allocation as requiredC. Clinical Governance & Patient SafetyPromote compliance with hospital policies, clinical protocols, and healthcare regulationsSupport quality improvement initiative, clinical audits, and accreditation activitiesMonitor, report, and participate in the investigation of incidents, complaints, and identified risksPromote infection prevention and control practices throughout the departmentD. Collaboration and CommunicationCollaborate with medical, nursing, allied health, diagnostic, and support service teams to facilitate coordinated patient care.Maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders to support continuity of care and operational efficiency.Escalate operational or clinical concerns to the Medical Services Manager in a timely manner.E. Administration & Continuous ImprovementPrepare and maintain operational reports, documentation, and departmental records as required.Monitor departmental performance indicators and contribute to service improvement initiatives.Participate in emergency preparedness activities and departmental projects as directed.Selection CriteriaEssentialMinimum bachelor’s degree in medicine (dokter).Licensing:Valid and active Surat Tanda Registrasi (STR).Eligible to obtain a Surat Izin Praktik (SIP) for Aspen Medical Hospital, Depok.Valid and active BCLS and ACLS certification or equivalent.Minimum 5 years experience in an Emergency Department or equivalent acute care environmentMinimum 2 years experience in a supervisory or leadership roleExcellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsStrong understanding of emergency department operations and patient flow managementDemonstrated ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
