Endowed Professorship in Cognitive DisordersThe Department of Neurology at the University of Michigan/Michigan Medicine is seeking to fill an endowed professorship with a tenure-track/tenured behavioral neurologist to join the cognitive disorders division and participate in research activities of the Michigan Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC). This is an opportunity to join an internationally recognized, highly productive, and collaborative team of clinician-scientists and other health care professionals. Our research program centers on the NIH-funded Michigan ADRC and its large portfolio of affiliated research projects, ranging from basic mechanistic studies to multimodal clinical research and investigator-initiated clinical trials. We welcome applicants who are eager to collaborate in these efforts and will bring to the division and Center their own areas of research interest in Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Candidates will also have the opportunity to collaborate with leading investigators through cross-disciplinary programs such as the University of Michigan (UM) Aging Initiative, the Michigan Neuroscience Institute, the UM Protein Folding Diseases Initiative, and the UM Center for RNA Biomedicine.The successful candidate will be qualified for appointment in Neurology at the Associate or full Professor level, depending on the degree of prior experience, although extraordinary candidates at the Assistant Professor level will be considered as well. The successful candidate should have a strong track record in research publications and grant funding in age-related neurodegenerative diseases.Startup funding and other resources accompanying this endowed professorship will be commensurate with the candidate's research interests and needs.

Requirements

• Completed a behavioral neurology or neurodegenerative disease fellowship at a leading academic center.- Board-certification in neurology.- Commitment to scientific discovery, cross-disciplinary collaborations, and team science.- History of meaningful contributions to neurodegenerative disease research.- Demonstrated potential for independent funding.

Responsibilities
