The role is responsible for identifying, developing, implementing and verifying energy, water and carbon reduction opportunities while maintaining required levels of service, occupant comfort, asset reliability, statutory compliance and client satisfaction. The Energy Manager supports both contract delivery and business growth through audits, performance analysis, energy projects, measurement & verification (M&V), technical proposals and continuous improvement.ResponsibilitiesManage energy performance across assigned client facilities and FM contracts.Conduct energy audits, benchmarking and identify energy-saving opportunities.Develop and implement energy conservation and efficiency projects.Monitor energy consumption, EnPIs, savings and utility performance.Lead M&V activities and verify energy savings.Optimize HVAC, BMS, lighting and other major energy-consuming systems.Prepare energy reports, dashboards, business cases and client presentations.Support energy-related tenders, proposals, mobilizations and contract renewals.Manage energy consultants, ESCOs, contractors and technology suppliers.Ensure compliance with HSE, statutory, client and contractual requirements.Identify opportunities for carbon reduction, water efficiency and renewable energy.Drive continuous improvement and energy awareness across FM operations.About the Role ContextTime Focus: Energy performance analysis, site assessments, client engagement, project development, M&V, performance reporting and implementation follow-up.Decision Authority: Within delegated authority, recommend energy-performance priorities, technical solutions, M&V methods, operational improvements, specialist resources and project actions.Key Challenge: Delivering measurable and sustainable energy savings while balancing client budgets, asset reliability, occupant comfort, FM service levels, statutory requirements, project disruption and commercial returns.Tools & Systems: Laptop/tablet; energy and power analyzers; thermal/diagnostic tools as required; MS Office and relevant engineering software.HSE: Compliance with company HSE procedures, client site rules, permit-to-work requirements and applicable statutory obligations is mandatory.QualificationsMinimum Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, energy or building services engineering.CEM certification is mandatory. LEED AP (O+M), CMVP, PQP, ISO 50001 or similar certification is an advantage.Experience:5–8 years’ experience in energy management, FM, building services or ESCO environment.Experience in commercial buildings and FM service-provider operations.Proven experience in energy audits, energy projects, BMS optimization and M&V.Required SkillsStrong knowledge of HVAC, chilled water systems, BMS, lighting, pumps and electrical systems.Knowledge of energy audits, benchmarking, baselining, EnPIs and energy conservation measures.Working knowledge of M&V/IPMVP and ISO 50001 principles.Understanding of energy, utility, building and environmental requirements.Strong Excel and energy-data analysis skills.Experience with BMS, EMS, CAFM/CMMS and smart metering/IoT platforms.Ability to analyze utility data and identify energy-performance trends and anomalies.Power BI or similar dashboard/reporting tools preferred.Ability to develop project scopes, technical specifications, CAPEX/OPEX estimates, business cases, ROI/payback assessments and implementation plans.Strong project coordination, procurement support, contractor management and quality-control skills.Ability to prepare and present client proposals and negotiate technical requirements with stakeholders.Client-focused, commercially aware and results-oriented.Strong communication, influencing, presentation and stakeholder-management skills.Analytical, structured and evidence-based approach to problem solving.Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary FM teams.Commitment to HSE, integrity, sustainability and continuous improvement.Energy Performance: Energy consumption and intensity improvement against approved baseline/target; verified savings delivered.Project Delivery: Energy projects delivered to approved scope, budget, programmed, quality and HSE requirements.M&V Quality: Accuracy, completeness and timely submission of M&V plans/reports; client acceptance of savings evidence.Client Satisfaction: Client satisfaction with energy services, reporting, responsiveness and agreed improvement plans.Commercial Contribution: Technical proposals supported, viable opportunities converted, and revenue/margin or cost-optimization contribution.Compliance & Reporting: Timely, accurate reporting and compliance with applicable contract, HSE, statutory, utility and management-system requirements.Continuous Improvement: Number and impact of implemented optimization initiatives, innovation opportunities and operational improvements.
