Apply & track with Apply EdgeJob Title: Engine Development EngineerLocation: Waterloo, IA 50613Job SummaryWe are seeking an Engine Development Engineer to support performance and emissions development through engine dynamometer testing, test planning, data analysis, software calibration, and engine/aftertreatment hardware development.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop detailed engine test plans and schedules for performance and emissions testing.Coordinate dyno testing and communicate test requirements with operators.Analyze test data, present results, and lead technical discussions.Calibrate base engine software features and support new software feature development.Provide technical guidance to field performance, calibration, applications, and other engineering teams.Support engine and aftertreatment hardware development.Apply engineering problem-solving techniques to resolve engine performance and emissions issues.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Agricultural, Systems, or Electrical Engineering.Minimum 1 year of experience in engine development, engine control systems, or engine component/subsystem development.Strong engineering problem-solving and analytical skills.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Proactive, quality-focused approach with a strong drive for results.Preferred Qualifications2–3 years of experience in performance and emissions development for heavy-duty diesel engines.Experience with engine controller development and calibration tools.Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE), modeling, and optimization techniques.Experience with GT-Power, NI DIAdem, MATLAB, MBC, CAGE, and Simulink.Experience with diesel engine aftertreatment systems/components.Master's degree in Mechanical, Agricultural, Systems, or Electrical Engineering.Alternative Titles for SourcingEngine Development Engineer | Engine Performance Engineer | Engine Calibration Engineer | Diesel Engine Development Engineer | Powertrain Development Engineer | Engine Controls Engineer | Engine Performance & Emissions Engineer | Diesel Engine Calibration Engineer
