The organization fosters a collaborative learning environment where seafarers can enhance their technical skills and operational readiness for modern vessels.Role Description The Engine Simulation Instructor is a full-time, on-site role based in Metro Manila. The instructor is responsible for delivering engine room simulation training, preparing lesson plans and learning materials, and conducting practical and theoretical sessions for seafarers and maritime students. Day-to-day tasks include guiding participants through realistic engine operation scenarios, monitoring performance, providing structured feedback, and ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory requirements. The role also involves assessing learner progress, maintaining and calibrating simulation equipment, updating course content to reflect current industry practices, and collaborating with colleagues to improve training programs.QualificationsStrong knowledge of marine engineering, shipboard engine room operations, and relevant maritime regulations and standards.Experience using or managing engine room simulators and related training technologies.IMO Model Course 6.09 qualification or equivalentIMO Model Course 6.10 qualificationPrior seagoing experience as an engineer officer or equivalent practical exposure to vessel machinery and systems.Ability to design and deliver clear, structured lessons, with skills in adult education or technical instruction.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to facilitate group learning and provide constructive feedback.Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities for troubleshooting simulation scenarios and equipment issues.Commitment to learner safety, professional ethics, and continuous improvement of training quality.Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering or a related field; valid STCW certificates or equivalent professional licenses are an advantage.Willingness to work on-site in Metro Manila and collaborate with a multidisciplinary training team.
