Apply & track with Apply EdgeEngineer II, Procurement – MechanicalJob PurposeTo support and execute procurement activities for mechanical materials, equipment, and services in accordance with project requirements, approved specifications, budgets, schedules, and company procurement procedures. The role is responsible for supplier coordination, technical evaluation, purchasing activities, and ensuring timely delivery of mechanical items to support project execution.Principal AccountabilitiesProcurement & PurchasingManage procurement activities for mechanical materials, equipment, and related services.Review purchase requisitions, specifications, BOQs, drawings, and project requirements.Prepare and issue RFQs to approved suppliers and subcontractors.Obtain and evaluate commercial and technical quotations.Prepare bid comparison sheets and procurement recommendations.Coordinate with suppliers to negotiate prices, delivery schedules, payment terms, and commercial conditions.Prepare purchase orders and ensure compliance with approved procurement procedures.Follow up on purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.Technical CoordinationCoordinate with Engineering, Construction, Commercial, and Project teams to clarify technical and procurement requirements.Review technical submittals, datasheets, and supplier documentation in coordination with the relevant engineering teams.Ensure purchased materials and equipment comply with project specifications and approved standards.Support the resolution of technical and commercial issues with suppliers.Supplier & Vendor ManagementCoordinate with suppliers regarding quotations, technical submissions, production schedules, inspections, and deliveries.Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and delivery commitments.Support supplier evaluation and maintain accurate procurement records.Identify potential procurement risks and escalate delays or critical issues to management.Cost & ReportingMonitor procurement costs against approved budgets and project requirements.Support cost-saving and value-engineering initiatives.Prepare procurement status reports, trackers, and dashboards.Maintain accurate records of RFQs, quotations, purchase orders, deliveries, and supplier correspondence.Project SupportCoordinate with site and project teams to ensure materials are available according to the approved construction schedule.Support expediting, inspection, and delivery activities.Assist with resolving material shortages, delays, and non-conformities.Support project close-out activities and ensure procurement documentation is properly completed and archived.Required Academic QualificationBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.Years of Experience5–8 years of relevant experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or commercial activities, preferably within construction, infrastructure, MEP, EPC, or engineering projects.Required Skills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of mechanical materials, equipment, and construction requirements.Experience in RFQs, quotation evaluation, bid comparisons, and purchase orders.Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.Good understanding of procurement processes and commercial terms.Strong proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Experience with ERP/procurement systems is preferred.Strong communication and coordination skills.Analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple procurement activities and meet project deadlines.Good command of English, written and spoken.
