This role will work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Process, Product Development, R&D, and Equipment Engineering teams to ensure reliable test solutions, improve yield and productivity, reduce test failures, and support successful product introduction. Current Malaysia-based Test Engineer roles commonly involve test-plan development, test equipment, automated/semi-automated testing, failure analysis, yield improvement, and test-process optimization. - Develop, implement, and maintain product testing processes, test systems, and test programs.
- Prepare detailed test plans, test procedures, test specifications, and supporting technical documentation.
- Design, develop, qualify, and optimize automated or semi-automated test systems and test fixtures.
- Install, configure, validate, and maintain test equipment used in manufacturing and product verification.
- Develop test programs and automation solutions to improve testing efficiency, accuracy, and reliability.
- Execute functional, electrical, performance, reliability, and product validation testing based on project requirements.
- Analyze test results, yield data, equipment logs, and failure trends to identify improvement opportunities.
- Perform root-cause analysis and debug product, tester, fixture, and process-related failures.
- Support failure analysis and corrective actions to reduce recurring test failures and production downtime.
- Optimize test processes to improve yield, test coverage, cycle time, throughput, and overall equipment efficiency.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Process, Product, R&D, and Equipment Engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
- Support new product introduction (NPI), product transfers, engineering changes, and manufacturing ramp-up activities.
- Develop and maintain test fixtures, hardware, software, schematics, BOMs, and technical specifications.
- Perform test-system qualification, validation, calibration, preventive maintenance, and reliability improvement activities.
- Conduct GR&R, SPC, TFMEA, DOE, and other statistical or engineering analysis where required.
- Monitor test equipment performance and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability.
- Automate test-data collection, reporting, and analysis to improve visibility and decision-making.
- Support production teams by troubleshooting test stations, equipment, fixtures, and software issues.
- Prepare technical reports covering test performance, yield, failures, equipment status, and improvement activities.
- Train technicians and production personnel on test procedures, equipment operation, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure test processes comply with quality standards, engineering specifications, safety requirements, and company procedures.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, cost reduction, automation, and process standardization.✅ Requirements
- Proven experience in Test Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Product Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting production test equipment and test systems.
- Strong understanding of test methodologies, test processes, product validation, and manufacturing environments.
- Experience with automated or semi-automated testing systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of LabVIEW, Python, C/C++, C#, or other test automation programming languages is an advantage.
- Experience with test fixtures, measurement equipment, sensors, instruments, and electrical/electronic systems.
- Strong knowledge of SPC, GR&R, FMEA, DOE, root-cause analysis, and failure analysis.
- Experience analyzing test data, yield trends, defects, and equipment performance.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, NPI, product transfer, and production ramp-up activities.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills with the ability to identify complex hardware, software, and process issues.
- Experience with data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel, Minitab, JMP, Power BI, or similar platforms is an advantage.
- Knowledge of semiconductor, electronics, PCBA, automotive, industrial, or high-volume manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple technical projects and priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and test reliability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Certifications or training in Six Sigma, Quality Engineering, Test Engineering, LabVIEW, or related technical areas are an advantage.🌟 What We Offer
