If you share our commitment to excellence and are ready to make a difference in the health and wellness industry, we would love to hear from you.Position Title: Engineering/Maintenance Manager FLSA Status: ExemptReports To: Operations ManagerScope: Responsible for overseeing the Engineering/Maintenance Department, Engineers, Process technicians, and Maintenance staff focusing on preventative maintenance, equipment installation, equipment refinement and upkeep of facilities and grounds at all locations. Responsible for the process of new product launch and new line installations, maintaining equipment to aid the manufacturing process. Monitor equipment and identify opportunities for continuous improvements to increase productivity while maintaining product quality. Assure organized storage area for replacement part inventory, coordinate and quote external contractor services as needed.Essential Duties:General oversight and monitoring of machinery, including project coordination for Engineering/Maintenance, upgrades, and repair.Identify and purchase equipment that meets manufacturing needs.Oversee Installation of new equipment.Facilitate associate technical training.Manage facilities and grounds at all locations.Manage continuous improvement and elimination of waste through ongoing analysis and identification of inefficiencies within the redzone system.Work with maintenance team to trouble-shooting problems with equipment or processes within the manufacturing system.Liaison with all departments to clarify expectations and progress for all projects from concept to final completion.Budget responsibilities including Capex program.Coordinate and monitor new product launches through the engineering team.Responsible for all Engineering and Maintenance team members’ targets, and team metrics using CMMS system and Redzone.Responsible to report all, major or minor food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.Promote food safety and quality awareness throughout the organization.Assist with other projects or duties as assigned.Physical Environment/ RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.The associate will frequently be required to stand for long periods of time and to occasionally sit, bend, or stoop to perform certain tasks.The associate will frequently be required to make coordinated hand and finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects.The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.The associate must be able to wear personal PPE, including gloves, masks, etc., when required.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.Associates in the Animal Plant may be exposed to raw ingredients and food allergens (milk, egg, peanut, tree nut, fish, shellfish, soy, wheat).Requirements & Qualifications:Bachelor’s or master’s degree in manufacturing or mechanical engineering.Certified manufacturing engineer preferred.Knowledge of automation, manufacturing systems integration, programmable logic controllers, history of process improvement and project management experience.Excellent interpersonal skills.Proven team builder with multi-functional department leadership experience.Excellent attention to detail and time management.Experience with mixing, tableting, capsuling, extrusion, powder filling equipment, labeling, code dating and liquid filling equipment preferred.Six Sigma experience.Excellent work history, attendance, initiative and drive to succeed.Maintain excellent communication and relationships with others; be a team player; maintain a positive attitude.Perform in a manner consistent with company Vision/Mission Statement and Core Values.This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required for this job.
