Role: Engineering Computing Support Engineer Location: Dubai Working Arrangement: Office Based Salary: Competitive tax-free salary, relocation package, and comprehensive healthcare coverYou're the person engineers call when their environment stops working and the standard IT playbook isn't going to fix it.You understand engineering computing at system level. FEA solvers, CAD environments, MBSE platforms, PLM clients, HPC jobs, floating licence servers and high-performance workstations. You don't just install the software. You understand how it fits together, why it breaks and how to get an engineer productive again quickly. We're building a certification grade aerospace programme in Dubai. Greenfield. The engineering organisation is scaling, and the computing environment supporting it is being built from the ground up.Your role: own the technical support environment for the engineering organisation. You'll provision and configure engineering workstations with the complete software stack, licensing and connectivity. You'll provide Level 2 support for engineering software issues, manage floating licence servers and usage, support HPC workloads and own the technical onboarding of every new engineer. The expectation is simple: a new engineer should be fully productive within 48 hours of joining. You'll report to the Manager, IT Infrastructure & Engineering Platforms and work directly with engineering teams across the programme.First 90 days:All engineering workstations are provisioned and validated before engineers arrive. Engineering software licences inventoried, licence servers configured and usage monitoring operational. You'll establish support procedures covering escalation routes, known issues and resolution procedures for the most common engineering software problems. You'll also establish the HPC onboarding process, including account creation, job submission training and first job support for engineers using the compute environment.By month 12:Every new engineer is productive within 48 hours. Critical engineering support issues resolved within two hours at least 95% of the time. Zero engineering stoppages caused by licence availability. Engineering software stack operating at 99%+ availability. What we're looking for:You have 10+ years' experience in IT support, including at least 5 years supporting aerospace or defence engineering computing environments. You have system level knowledge of FEA solvers, CAD tools, MBSE platforms and engineering development environments. That means configuration, licensing and troubleshooting, not simply installing applications. You've managed floating licence servers supporting engineering suites with 50+ concurrent users and understanding licence utilisation, monitoring and vendor coordination. You have practical HPC support experience, helping engineers submit, troubleshoot and optimise compute jobs, alongside experience specifying, configuring and validating high-performance engineering workstations.Experience specifically supporting aerospace engineering software is highly desirable, as is PLM/EDMS client support and VDI environments supporting engineering workloads. You're technically strong, proactive and understand that engineering downtime isn't an inconvenience. On a certification programme, it costs real schedule.PackageBased in Dubai, full time and office based. Competitive tax-free salary, relocation package and comprehensive healthcare cover. If you've supported complex engineering computing environments and know your way around CAD, FEA, MBSE, HPC and engineering software licensing, get in touch.
