Engineering Director

Role DescriptionAn Engineering Director is responsible for leading engineering strategy, technical operations, projects, and engineering teams while ensuring quality, safety, efficiency, and successful project delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement engineering strategies, standards, and plans.Lead engineering projects from planning through completion.Manage engineering teams, resources, budgets, and technical priorities.Oversee design, development, testing, installation, and commissioning activities.Review engineering designs, specifications, calculations, and technical documents.Monitor project schedules, costs, quality, and technical performance.Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety requirements, and regulations.Resolve technical, operational, and engineering issues.Manage equipment, materials, technology, and engineering resources.Identify engineering risks, changes, and technical requirements.Drive innovation, efficiency, cost reduction, and continuous improvement.Prepare technical reports, budgets, forecasts, and management updates.Lead, coach, and develop engineering teams.Provide technical advice and strategic recommendations to senior management.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.Extensive experience in engineering management or senior engineering leadership.Strong knowledge of engineering design, project management, and technical operations.Experience managing engineering teams, projects, budgets, and resources.Good understanding of engineering standards, codes, safety, and regulatory requirements.Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.Familiarity with engineering software, project management tools, and technical systems.Strong commercial, financial, and risk-management awareness.Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.Professional engineering certification or chartered status is advantageous.UAE/GCC engineering experience is preferred.Strategic, organized, accountable, and proactive approach.Strong commitment to quality, safety, and professional standards.
