Role DescriptionAn Engineering Director is responsible for leading engineering strategy, technical operations, projects, and engineering teams. The role ensures technical quality, safety, efficiency, innovation, and successful project delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement engineering strategies, standards, and technical plans.Lead engineering projects from planning through completion.Manage engineering teams, resources, budgets, and technical priorities.Oversee engineering design, development, testing, installation, and commissioning.Review designs, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation.Monitor project schedules, costs, quality, and technical performance.Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety requirements, and regulations.Identify and resolve technical, engineering, and operational issues.Manage engineering equipment, materials, technology, and resources.Identify engineering risks, changes, and technical requirements.Drive innovation, efficiency, cost reduction, and continuous improvement.Prepare technical reports, budgets, forecasts, and management updates.Lead, coach, and develop engineering teams.Provide technical advice and strategic recommendations to senior management.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.Extensive experience in engineering management or senior engineering leadership.Strong knowledge of engineering design, project management, and technical operations.Experience managing engineering teams, projects, budgets, and resources.Good understanding of engineering standards, codes, safety, and regulatory requirements.Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.Proficiency in relevant engineering software, project tools, and technical systems.Strong commercial, financial, and risk-management awareness.Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.Professional engineering certification or chartered status is advantageous.UAE/GCC engineering experience is advantageous.Strategic, organized, accountable, proactive, and results-oriented.Strong commitment to quality, safety, and professional standards.
