Team members join a collaborative environment dedicated to educational excellence and student development.Role Description The Engineering Lecturer is a full-time, on-site role based in Colombo. The lecturer will deliver undergraduate engineering modules aligned with the curriculum of the affiliated UK university, including preparing and conducting lectures, tutorials, labs, and workshops. Responsibilities include developing teaching materials, creating and grading assessments, guiding student projects, providing academic advising, and maintaining accurate records of student performance. The role also involves contributing to course development, participating in quality assurance and accreditation activities, supporting student recruitment and retention initiatives, and collaborating with colleagues to enhance teaching standards and student outcomes.Qualifications Strong foundation in an engineering discipline (e.g., mechanical, civil, electrical, or related field) and ability to teach core and applied engineering subjects.Proficiency in curriculum delivery, lesson planning, academic assessment, and student mentoring within a higher education setting.Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to diverse learners.Competence in using digital tools for teaching (e-learning platforms, online assessment systems, presentation software) and openness to innovative pedagogical approaches.Ability to work collaboratively with academic and administrative teams, manage classroom dynamics, and contribute to academic quality improvement.Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering; a master’s degree or professional registration (e.g., chartered or licensed engineer) is highly advantageous.Prior experience in university-level teaching or industry experience in engineering that can be translated into practical classroom examples.Commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory teaching practices and supporting students from varied academic and cultural backgrounds.
