Scaling rapidly and moving fast.They’re now hiring an Engineering Manager to build the managerial layer from scratch - reporting directly to the Head of Engineering and managing 20-30 remote engineers across Eastern Europe and South America, while working onsite in NYC. This is a greenfield opportunity to establish performance reviews, feedback loops, reporting structures, and hiring processes - all while staying deeply technical and shipping code daily. Multiple deploys per day.ResponsibilitiesDefine and implement engineering processes from scratch - performance reviews, feedback loops, reporting structures, and pod organisationManage 20-30 remote engineers across multiple time zones (Eastern Europe, South America)Oversee the migration from AWS to Kubernetes alongside the SRE teamMake architectural decisions and write production code daily - this is a hands-on leadership rolePartner with Product on roadmap, prioritisation, and execution while unblocking engineers and driving deliveryRequirements5+ years in backend-heavy software engineering, progressing from strong IC (Staff/Principal) into hands-on engineering managementBuilt and scaled an engineering team from inception through growth - eager to lead a rapidly growing team of ~25 engineersHands-on coder - builds and ships daily, not just reviewsBackend-heavy, proficient in Python - still writes code dailyExperience at a platform-as-a-service or FinTech company (e.g. Datadog, Snowflake, Stripe calibre)Comfortable managing 20-30 remote engineers across time zonesExperience with system architecture decisions - infrastructure migrations, Kubernetes, AWSFrontend experience with React/TypeScript a plusHigh agency with low ego - makes fast decisions, admits mistakes, pivots quicklyTech StackPython, Django, React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Redis, AWS Fargate, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions$100M+ raised.
