We’ve already completed lakhs of jobs with exceptional customer satisfaction - and we’re just getting started.The OpportunityWe’re looking for an Engineering Manager - Backend to lead and scale one of Snabbit’s core backend engineering teams.This is a leadership role with a strong technical foundation. You’ll be responsible for building a high-performing engineering team, driving execution across critical backend systems, and ensuring our technology scales reliably as Snabbit grows. You’ll work closely with Product, Design, Data, and Engineering leadership to translate business problems into simple, scalable technical solutions.What You’ll DoLead the team → Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing backend engineering team. Set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and help engineers grow in their careers.Own execution → Drive end-to-end delivery of critical engineering initiatives, from problem definition and technical planning through execution and production.Raise the technical bar → Ensure strong engineering practices across system design, code quality, testing, observability, reliability, and performance.Solve for scale → Design and evolve backend systems that are scalable, reliable, secure, and cost-efficient as Snabbit grows significantly.Partner cross-functionally → Work closely with Product, Design, Data, and other engineering teams to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.Build engineering velocity → Identify bottlenecks in processes, architecture, and team workflows, and create systems that help the team ship faster without compromising quality.Stay technical → Participate in architecture and system design discussions, review critical technical decisions, and dive deep into complex problems when required.What We’re Looking For8+ years of experience in software engineering, with significant experience building backend systems at scale.Proven experience managing and mentoring engineering teams, with a track record of building strong, high-performing teams.Strong expertise in backend engineering, distributed systems, databases, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.Experience designing and operating scalable, reliable, and high-performance systems in production.Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals including system design, code quality, testing, observability, and reliability.Strong product thinking and the ability to balance technical excellence with business priorities and speed of execution.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across teams.A hands-on engineering mindset - comfortable going deep into technical problems and making pragmatic decisions when needed.Why Snabbit?Build at scale: Help build the technology powering a category-defining consumer company.High-impact leadership: Shape both the engineering team and the systems that power Snabbit’s growth.Hard problems, early enough: Work on challenging backend and scalability problems while many foundational decisions are still ahead of us.Technical leadership: Lead engineers while staying close to technology and architecture.High ownership: Move quickly, make consequential decisions, and see your work translate directly into business impact.You’ll Thrive Here If YouYou enjoy building great engineering teams as much as building great systems.
