The Engineering Manager is part of the plant leadership team. Responsibilities include: oversee and manage the Maintenance Department, develop and manage capital projects, and oversee/upkeep the PSM program for the plant.
Job Responsibilities
Owner, accountable for all plant assets; responsible for controlling, tracking and reporting spending of the capital budget and the maintenanceFunction as a project manager for capital projectsCommunicate with internal and external customers to ensure project plans and work in progress will meet desired outcomesCommunicate with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standardsDirectly supervise all resources in the maintenanceAnalyze/plan maintenance work force utilization, predictive/preventative maintenance, space requirements, workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiencyProvide technical advice on plant operations and improvements. Prepare engineering analysis of projects that includes preliminary design, detailed design, project cost analysis, life cycle cost analysis and equipment selectionDevelop, evaluate and improve the manufacturing controls and automation utilizing knowledge of instrumentation, controls & automation, product design, materials, chemicals, and production equipment capabilitiesLeverage engineering controls to institutionalize consistencies in production
Requirements
B.S. in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering5+ years plant maintenance/engineering/project engineering experience in chemicals idealExposure to Programmable Logic Control, Distributive Process Controls Systems (DeltaV), HMI and Automation control systemsStrong interpersonal skills and demonstrated record of leadership, teamwork, adaptability, innovation and initiativeAbility to work well with all levels of personnel throughout the facility and the companyExperience in executing pillars of total productive maintenance (TPM)Engineer in Training Certification or PEAdditional Training/experience IncludesExperience in 6 Sigma, Lean, 5SRegistered as a Professional Engineer idealPlant maintenance/engineering/project engineering experience in chemical or paper manufacturingExperience in PSM program implementationKnowledge in AB RS Logix 5/500/5000, Control Logix, Powerflex drive, HMI/SCADA, I-Fix, ParcView and DeltaV Batch
