💻 Engineering Manager – Software Engineering☁️ Cloud | People Leadership | AI-Assisted Engineering📍 London – Hybrid (2 days per week)🚀 Established B2B SaaS Business | Engineering Transformation💵 £100k – £110kAlbany Growth are exclusively partnered with an established technology business developing specialist, business-critical software used by customers internationally.They're hiring an Engineering Manager to lead a team of talented software engineers, helping shape engineering culture, improve delivery processes and maintain high standards across a business where software quality, reliability and performance are critical.This is a people-focused Engineering Manager role, with a strong emphasis on coaching, developing engineers and building high-performing teams. A hands-on software engineering background is highly valued, as you'll need the technical credibility to challenge decisions, drive engineering standards and improve processes, tooling and overall team effectiveness.What you'll be doing:Leading and developing a team of approximately 6–8 software engineers, including senior engineersOwning coaching, 1:1s, career progression, performance management and hiringImproving engineering processes, delivery effectiveness and team productivityChallenging senior engineers on technical standards, testing, quality and engineering best practicesTaking ownership of engineering tooling, infrastructure practices, CI/CD and automated testing standardsHelping introduce and scale AI-assisted and agentic engineering practicesWorking closely with Product, Design and Technical Leads to ensure teams deliver effectivelyBuilding a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and consistently high engineering standardsWe're looking for:Multiple years' experience as a dedicated Engineering Manager, managing software/senior engineers, and ideally Technical LeadsA strong software engineering background, with the technical credibility to challenge decisions without needing to code day-to-dayProven experience coaching engineers, developing talent and managing performanceStrong understanding of cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, automated testing and Infrastructure as CodeSomeone comfortable challenging engineering standards and driving improvements across teamsExposure to AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot or similar, ideally with experience introducing them into engineering teamsExperience in regulated, high-reliability or business-critical software environments would be advantageous, but isn't essential📍 London – 2 days per week onsite💵 £100k – £110k base salary👥 People-first leadership – Lead, coach and develop talented engineers☁️ Modern engineering environment – Cloud, IaC, CI/CD and automated testing🤖 AI-assisted engineering – Help shape how AI is adopted across software development🚀 Engineering impact – Influence processes, standards and team effectivenessThis is a great opportunity for an Engineering Manager who loves developing people, enjoys challenging engineering standards and wants to make a genuine impact on how engineering teams operate.If you're looking for a role where you can combine strong people leadership with technical credibility, engineering improvement and emerging AI practices, we'd love to hear from you.If you're interested, apply using the link and we'll be in touch.
