Responsibilities Roles at SBU Level: Lead the Engineering Department to achieve the company's strategic goals, revenue growth, and profitability targets by identifying and implementing productivity improvement projects, conducting feasibility studies, and proposing initiatives to enhance production cost efficiency. Ensure Customer Satisfaction by delivering top-quality products that exceed expectations. Focus on maximizing process efficiency, eliminating non-value-added activities, and providing innovative and competitive solutions. Develop Subordinate Skill Sets and growth paths, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives, revenue goals, and profitability targets. Implement Emerging Technologies and machines to enhance engineering and technical capabilities, strengthening the company's competitive advantage and business processes. Ensure Compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental, Safety, and Health Management System (ESHMS) practices to support the company’s financial and operational goals. Roles aligned to Group Function: Deliver Best-in-Class Products and Services through an effective quality management system and standards that surpass customer expectations. This involves optimizing resources (raw materials, labor, capital, information) to produce finished products with operational efficiency, focusing on quality and long-term sustainability, and eliminating defects and waste that do not add value, thereby achieving strategic goals and operational excellence. Mid to Long term Strategic & Predictive Preparation Evaluate and develop advanced material for applications with sizeable market potential. Evaluate, develop and/or procure and install automation solutions and advanced equipment for the purpose of increasing productivity and reducing dependence on human labor. Evaluate, develop and/or procure and install advanced systems for the purpose of early detection and prevention of defective products. Planning & Operational Execution Understanding MCC/cost drivers as a management tool to enable product pricing competitiveness and reduce unnecessary waste and costs, hence building ownership and accountability. Execute projects by managing stakeholder engagement, resources, budgets and resolving problems. Ensure clear verbal and written communication including technical writing, Wi and presentations. Establish and implement 6S housekeeping controls in the work environment. Optimize processes to reduce the 7+2 wastes. Use computer-aided design software and tools to design tooling products, components and machine parts for manufacture. Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics, define and verify acceptable engineering tolerances of products and part geometry. Study and test material properties and specifications for the application in products. Familiarity and expertise in production processes to facilitate production, engineering and processing of materials into products. Evaluate and implement potential equipment and facilities to enhance productivity for factory. Understand quality process controls to design products for production to avoid or minimize issues leading to defects. Determine optimal material and process to produce part with the greater efficiency and cost competitiveness. Understand and utilize fast prototyping equipment to produce prototypes or samples. Adjustment of processes to optimize parameters within constraints for the purpose of minimizing cost and maximizing throughput, efficiency and quality. Evaluate, develop and/or procure and install automation solutions and advanced equipment for the purpose of increasing productivity and reducing dependence on human labor. Identify required process improvement, obtain stakeholder buy-in plan and implement process change and report on results. Design and test tooling, including consideration for optimized layout, balance, precision, process, durability, stability and ease of fabrication. Perform precision measurements with relevant techniques and equipment to meet requirements for product conformity. Manage daily operations of the tool room, including issuance and receipt, maintenance and repair. Collect data on tool life and utilization to effectively predict tooling cycles and meet the purpose of reducing downtime and increase effectiveness. Prepare organizational budgets to support short-and long- terms business plans through forecasting, allocation and financial policy setting. Data Analysis and Reporting Examine the defects evidence to verify the causes of failure as well as identify the failure modes. Employ a systematic approach and engineering tools such as process analysis, data analysis, and pattern recognition to rediscover problems and to resolve them.
