Engineering Product Lead – Trading Platforms

Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Engineering Product Lead – Trading Platforms to lead the product direction, technical delivery and ongoing evolution of our trading platform ecosystem.This is a senior leadership role sitting at the intersection of Product, Engineering and Trading. The successful candidate will combine deep knowledge of electronic trading and brokerage technology with strong product leadership and the ability to work closely with engineering teams to translate complex business and trading requirements into scalable, resilient and commercially successful technology solutions.The role will take ownership of the product roadmap across key components of the trading ecosystem, including trading platforms, pricing and execution, order management, trading middleware, APIs, FIX connectivity and market infrastructure.Key ResponsibilitiesProduct & Platform LeadershipDefine and own the product vision, strategy and roadmap for the organisation’s trading platforms and associated technology ecosystem.Translate business, trading and client requirements into clearly defined product capabilities, technical requirements and delivery priorities.Own the product lifecycle from concept and requirements through engineering delivery, launch, adoption and continuous improvement.Develop platform capabilities that improve trading experience, execution quality, scalability, operational efficiency and commercial performance.Identify opportunities for platform modernisation, automation and product innovation.Establish clear KPIs and use platform, client and operational data to guide product decisions and prioritisation.Engineering & Technical DeliveryProvide product leadership across Engineering, Architecture, QA, DevOps and UI/UX teams.Work closely with engineering leadership to ensure product strategy is translated into scalable and technically sustainable solutions.Lead initiatives across pricing engines, execution workflows, order management, trading middleware, FIX connectivity, APIs and market infrastructure.Define requirements, user journeys, acceptance criteria and delivery priorities for engineering teams.Balance new product development with platform stability, technical debt, resilience and scalability.Support architectural and technology decisions affecting the long-term evolution of the trading platform ecosystem.Drive disciplined release planning, testing, implementation and production deployment of platform changes.Trading Platform & Market InfrastructureLead the evolution and integration of third-party and proprietary trading platforms, including MT4, MT5, web/mobile trading platforms and associated trading services.Drive improvements across pricing, liquidity aggregation, execution and order-routing capabilities.Oversee product requirements for APIs and FIX connectivity supporting institutional, professional and algorithmic trading clients.Partner with trading and technology teams on liquidity-provider, prime-broker and market connectivity initiatives.Support the introduction of new asset classes, trading functionality and execution capabilities.Ensure platform architecture and workflows can support high-volume, low-latency and business-critical trading environments.Cross-Functional LeadershipAct as the key bridge between Trading, Product, Engineering, Risk, Operations, Compliance and senior management.Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to establish priorities and resolve competing requirements.Coordinate strategic initiatives involving internal engineering teams, trading technology providers, liquidity partners and other external vendors.Communicate product strategy, roadmap progress, dependencies and delivery risks clearly to senior leadership.Lead and mentor Product Managers, Product Owners and other team members supporting the trading technology portfolio.Experience & Qualifications10-15+ years of experience within trading technology, electronic trading, brokerage, capital markets, fintech or a closely related environment.Significant experience leading products or technology platforms within an online brokerage, trading platform or financial markets organisation.Strong understanding of the end-to-end electronic trading lifecycle.Demonstrable experience owning complex technology products from strategy and roadmap through engineering delivery and production launch.Strong knowledge of MT4 and/or MT5 and modern web/mobile trading environments.Experience with FIX, APIs, trading middleware and third-party trading integrations.Strong understanding of pricing, liquidity aggregation, order management, execution and market connectivity.Experience working with liquidity providers, prime brokers, trading venues and technology vendors is highly desirable.Strong understanding of financial and operational risk within a leveraged trading environment.Proven ability to lead cross-functional engineering and product teams and influence senior stakeholders.Experience delivering large-scale platform transformation or modernisation programmes.Technical & Domain KnowledgeThe successful candidate should have strong knowledge across several of
