Engineering Team Lead

A Tier 1 Bank is looking for an Engineering Manager to own their process orchestration platform end to end: running the engineering roadmap, playbooks and ongoing maintenance, and managing the rollout of vendor upgrades and internal improvements across all consuming teams' own instances of the stack.ResponsibilitiesOwn the platform end-to-end: design, build, and long-term maintenanceRoll out upgrades and improvements to teams running their own instancesStay hands-on with code, architecture, and problem-solving, not just people managementManage two feature teams (~8 reports)Required SkillsAWS experienceKubernetes/EKS a plus, not required (we've just moved from ECS to EKS)No preferred language — comfortable moving between Java, Go, TypeScript, etc.Background in larger, more structured/regulated organizations preferred over early-stage or loosely governed environmentsThis is a permanent role with two days a week required in their office just outside of Manchester.
