Guided by a people-centred philosophy, Bere-Mont is building an ecosystem where individuals can learn, grow, lead, and thrive.Role Description: The English & Literature Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based in Port Harcourt, responsible for delivering engaging lessons in English Language and Literature across appropriate grade levels. The teacher will plan and deliver curriculum-aligned lessons, prepare teaching materials, assess student performance, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate academic records. Daily responsibilities include facilitating interactive classroom activities, guiding reading and writing assignments, supporting learners’ critical thinking and communication skills, and integrating technology and creative methods into teaching. The role also involves participating in staff meetings, professional development, school events, and extracurricular literary activities such as book clubs, debates, and writing competitions. The teacher is expected to collaborate with colleagues, communicate regularly with parents and guardians, and contribute positively to the school’s culture of excellence and character development.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong teaching and education skills, with proven experience delivering English Language and Literature at primary or secondary school level.Candidates should possess effective lesson planning skills, including the ability to design curriculum-aligned schemes of work and differentiated learning activities.Candidates should possess excellent communication skills, including clear classroom instruction, constructive feedback, and professional interaction with students, families, and colleagues.Candidates should possess training skills, with the ability to mentor learners, support study skills, and contribute to student development programs.Bachelor’s degree in English, Literature, Education, or a related field; a teaching qualification or license is highly desirable.Demonstrated classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive, respectful, and engaging learning environment.Proficiency in using educational technology, learning management systems, and digital resources to support teaching and assessment.Commitment to continuous professional development and alignment with Bere-Mont’s values of integrity, excellence, and learner-centred education.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES* Teach English Language and Literature to secondary school students.* Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, tests, and examinations.* Assess and monitor students’ academic progress.* Maintain effective classroom discipline and engagement.* Participate in school activities, meetings, and other academic duties.* Support students in developing strong reading, writing, grammar, and literary analysis skills.HOW TO APPLYInterested and qualified candidates should send their C V to: careers@beremont.comApplication Deadline: 18th September, 2026Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
