Role Description This is a full-time, on-site English and History Teacher role based in Dehradun. The teacher will plan and deliver engaging lessons in English and History aligned with class 8 and ICSE curriculum standards, using a variety of instructional methods to support different learning styles. Daily responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, teaching classes, assessing student progress through assignments and examinations, and providing constructive feedback. The teacher will maintain classroom discipline, create an inclusive learning environment, and collaborate with colleagues on academic planning and co-curricular initiatives. Additional duties may include participation in parent-teacher meetings, school events, and ongoing professional development activities.Qualifications Strong subject knowledge in English language, literature, and History, with the ability to teach these subjects across relevant grade levels.Proficiency in lesson planning, classroom management, and student assessment, including designing tests, assignments, and projects.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and encourage student participation.Ability to create an inclusive, student-centered classroom that supports diverse learning needs and promotes critical thinking and creativity.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, History, Education, or a related field; formal teacher training or certification is preferred.Prior teaching experience in school or similar academic settings, ideally in English and History.Comfort with basic educational technology and digital tools for teaching, record-keeping, and communication.Strong organizational skills, reliability, and a collaborative approach to working with school leadership, colleagues, and families.
