English Language and Literature Teacher KS3, 4 and 5

ESSENTIAL - MUST HAVE THE RIGHT TO WORK IN SPAIN / EU PASSPORTRole Description This full-time, on-site role is based at Elian's British School of La Nucía in the province of Valencia. The English Language and Literature Teacher will plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging lessons for KS3, KS4, and KS5 learners, ensuring alignment with the British curriculum and school policies. Responsibilities include preparing schemes of work and lesson plans, setting and marking homework and assessments, and providing clear feedback to support learner progress. The teacher will actively contribute to departmental meetings, participate in school events, and collaborate with colleagues to enhance the English curriculum. Additional duties include maintaining accurate records of attainment, managing classroom behavior positively, supporting exam preparation, and communicating effectively with families and guardians about learner development.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong English Teaching skills, including experience with KS3–KS5 and familiarity with the British curriculum.Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills to work with learners, colleagues, and families in a clear, respectful, and professional manner.Candidates should possess Translation and language support skills, ideally with proficiency in Spanish to aid communication in the school community.Candidates should possess Customer Service skills to provide responsive, learner-centered support and maintain positive relationships with families.Candidates should possess Training skills to mentor learners in study strategies and exam techniques, and to engage in ongoing professional development.Relevant degree in English, English Literature, or a closely related field, plus a recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE or equivalent).Demonstrated experience teaching in international or British curriculum schools is highly beneficial.Strong classroom management abilities, organizational skills, and confidence using educational technology for planning, delivery, and assessment.
