Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing lesson plans and teaching materials, conducting lectures, tutorials, and practical language activities, assessing student performance through assignments and examinations, and providing constructive feedback and academic support. The lecturer will also participate in curriculum development, contribute to academic quality assurance, and collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching methodologies and learner outcomes. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Colombo, requiring regular classroom teaching and participation in institutional academic activities.Qualifications Strong English language teaching skills, including lesson planning, classroom instruction, and academic support for diverse learner groups.Proficiency in curriculum development, assessment design, and the use of varied teaching methodologies and learning resources.Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate learners.Comfort with educational technology, including learning management systems, online resources, and digital tools for language teaching.Bachelor’s degree or higher in English, Linguistics, Education, TESOL, or a related field; relevant teaching certifications (e.g., CELTA, TESOL, TEFL) are an advantage.Prior experience teaching English at tertiary or vocational level is preferred; experience with international or exam-focused curricula is beneficial.Ability to work collaboratively within an academic team, manage time effectively, and maintain accurate academic records.Commitment to inclusive, learner-centered teaching practices and ongoing professional development.
