Apply & track with Apply EdgeWe are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, and accomplished English specialist looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people at a SEN school in Stockport. The school is a specialist independent school for children and young people in a secondary setting, many of whom have Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and associated needs, including ADHD. It is an exciting time to join with the expansion of a SEN pathway designed to support pupils back into education who have emotionally based school non-attendance.ResponsibilitiesPlan, prepare, and deliver engaging, high-quality English lessons that challenge pupils and support their learning.Promote a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages pupils’ educational, social, and personal development.Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing constructive feedback and tailored support to help them achieve their learning goals.Support pupils with ASC, ADHD, and a range of additional learning needs, adapting teaching approaches to meet individual needs and maximise their potential.Establish and maintain a structured, inclusive, and positive classroom environment where all pupils feel valued, supported, and able to succeed.QualificationsQualified Teacher Status (QTS). Required SkillsHave experience teaching English across KS2 and KS3.Experience of working with children with ASC, and SEN.A strong understanding of the National Curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
